[ is just shy of running through the hallways, feet light as not to draw unnecessary attention from the doctor down in his study. checks a few places -- their shared room, the fireplace room, their place by the window -- before hesitatingly tiptoeing toward the front doors. opens them just enough to poke his head, a shoulder & arm outside (not enough to cause any alarms), eyes quickly scanning the premises before he finally spots her in the near-ish distance.

clears his voice & hisses out, as loud as he dares to let his voice go: ]

[ looks confused for a moment before perking up at the question, nodding. ]

Oh yeah. [ extends a hand toward her, asking for hers. ]

[ looks down at the hand and lifts hers, hesitating for a moment before placing it in his, curling her fingers into a half-hold. ]

[ beams & starts tugging her along, looking more & more excited as they get closer to their destination -- the piano room. ]

I finally finished that piece I was working on.

[ eyes widen slightly at this new information, taking two quick steps forward so that she's not trailing behind. ]

Yeah. I wanted you to be the first one to hear it.

[ gazes down at her feet again and flushes, still looking happy despite this. ]

I'm... I'm honored.

[ looks away, also embarrassed. ]

It's... it's not that great of a piece. Besides, who else was I going to show it to?

[ comes to her senses again at his last words, shaking her head a little bit to once again rid her of her thoughts. ]

I'm sure it's good...

... I hope so. At least, if you like it, it'd be okay.

[ leads her inside the room, closing the door behind them. lets go of her hand gently to take a seat in front of the piano. ]

[ steps lightly a few paces to lean on the wall next to the piano, folding her hands in front of herself as she waits, not daring to speak. feels a little nervous yet expectant, fidgeting slightly on the spot. ]

[ takes a deep breath, rests his fingers on the keys. closes his eyes for a moment, drawing in all nervousness before he starts to play (http://pearlet.angelfire.com/Fan_Gong_Piano_Music_Vol._1__Silence_Is_Gold_10_Cry_For_Sha.mp3). ]

[ watches him for a while as he begins the song, eyes eventually sliding shut while her head tips back slightly, simply breathing in the melody. the music tugs at her, making her feel happy & warm and other things she has yet to put into words. when he finally stops playing, however, she does not speak or seem aware of her surroundings for a little while longer.

when she finally comes to a soft smile forms upon her lips, head ducking down slightly to bask in the afterglow of the music. ]

[ leans away from the piano with a deep, silent breath -- inhale, exhale. turns to her when he hears her speak, lips spreading into first what seems to be a shy smile (reminiscent of his younger years) before turning a little more proud. ]

[ reaches out a hand to touch the side of his face, eyes going a little soft as she murmurs her next words: ]

[ pulls away a little quicker than usual, turning her head slightly to the side to gather herself again. eventually turns back with a small shrug on her shoulders, lacing her fingers behind her back. ]

I wish I could play the piano like you do.

[ shrugs, lowering his eyes to the floor as he rings a note with a finger. ]

Your singing's a lot nicer.

No, but you-- [ pauses. shakes her head, deciding to not push it. ] Thank you. I'm happy you think so.

[ looks up at her with a firm expression, borderline a pout. ]

I'm not lying, you know.

[ finally nods in acknowledgment, taking the initiative to sit on the edge of the piano bench, hands resting upon her lap. ]

Alright. Though I am not sure what we should do.

[ scoots over to give her more room on the bench, hitting another note in thought. ]

[ tilts her head to the side, giving him a confused look, as if that answer is supposed to be relatively obvious by now. ]
