[ is just shy of running through the hallways, feet light as not to draw unnecessary attention from the doctor down in his study. checks a few places -- their shared room, the fireplace room, their place by the window -- before hesitatingly tiptoeing toward the front doors. opens them just enough to poke his head, a shoulder & arm outside (not enough to cause any alarms), eyes quickly scanning the premises before he finally spots her in the near-ish distance.

clears his voice & hisses out, as loud as he dares to let his voice go: ]

[ watches her a bit & then gets up with his bowl & apple juice. ]

I want to.

[ blinks in surprise but automatically stands up after him, forgoing her food for now. ]

Alright.

[ glances at her food & decides that it's best to leave it on the table. puts down his bowl but keeps the apple juice, giving her a nod before walking towards the fireplace room to sit & settle himself against the couch that the children were sleeping on. ]

[ follows along quickly and then gently, carefully takes a seat on the edge of the couch. a small smile touches her lips as she watches them, making sure to go slowly enough when she lifts a hand to first stroke at damon's hair, hoping to not disturb him or the others, even if they seem like they're out like a light. ]

[ stays quiet, reaching for a book he keeps in this room while sipping at his drink, opening it in his lap as he slowly begins to read. ]

[ continues to play with damon's hair, allowing herself to keep that tiny smile on her face. it's only when she's comfortable and the boys have properly situated themselves around her in their sleep that she speaks, opting for a quieter tone than her usual. ]

[ glances up after a moment, his voice just as quiet. ]

[ doesn't hesitate when she bends forward enough to press her lips against his forehead, pulling back slightly so that she can look at him and properly say: ]

[ smiles at him warmly despite his nonchalant attitude, settling back into position again. while one hand soothes liam's back fondly, another unknowingly reached albert's shoulder, simply stroking them both in a silent manner of affection.

closes her eyes and exhales contently, deciding that relishing in this warmth is good enough for now. ]
