[ fidgeting, way too dressed up for his own good. tugging at his tie, shifting his weight back & forth between his feet. looks about as unhappy as he can get. ]

Good. [ finishes his drink with one last sip. sets down the glass & rises to his feet, attention turned fully on brianna. lifts their connected hands from the table & twists them so that her hand is on top, a smile dancing across his lips. ]

Now. A dance?

[ lets out a short amused puff of breath, head tucked slightly down in private appreciation. doesn't bother with her own drink, leaving it abandoned on the counter. makes to incline her head slightly, sliding off the seat as well. ]

I would be honored.

[ & the crowds part when he leads them both toward the middle of the room as the current song begins to wrap up & a slower song begins to play. assumes position, both hands on her waist, swaying them both in rhythm to the music.

presses a chuckle into her shoulder when a thought comes to the surface of his mind, makes him lean in close. ]

Are you aware of the blemish left on our image by Nathan?

[ arms take their own natural position, loosely wrapped around the crook between his neck and shoulder. raises an eyebrow over at him when he moves, lips curling up into another one of her smiles. her voice is light, teasing. ]

I could scarcely hear him, though I do believe I noticed.

[ expression smooths out into something convincingly serious. ]

Shall I make an appointment for him with our doctor?

[ tilts her head to the side, that smile not leaving her. ]

Perhaps running some tests would be a wise idea, yes.

[ spins them when appropriate while another chuckle escapes him. ]

First thing tomorrow morning.

[ lets out a low chuckle herself, eyes narrowing fondly. ]

Agreed.

[ allows himself to enjoy the dancing afterward, eyes going briefly closed to enjoy the feeling of their moving bodies. when the music starts to come to an end, however, he presses his lips against the bridge of her nose. pulls away slowly, almost sluggish. ]

Thank you for the dance, princess.

[ hums in approval, caressing a hand down his shoulder all the way to his palm. removes herself fully after, the touch only brief yet foreshadowing more to come. ]

Anytime, handsome.

[ tilts his head at the touch, looking as pleased as he'd allow himself in public at the touch. ]

Any preference on our next destination?

[ hums in mock thought. ]

Mmm maybe. But it wouldn't be anywhere near here.

Someplace more private, then?

[ quirks an eyebrow. ]

Don't want anyone to get jealous, now do we?

Ah. Then I do believe I must bid a few farewells.

[ nods her head slightly, a silent declaration of understanding. ]

As you wish.

[ moves one step back, head inclining as a silent excuse to briefly extract himself out of her company to bid good night to the few that had caught his interest and favour tonight. shakes hands, kisses hands, exchanging almost-genuine pleasantries -- he doesn't linger, however, mind already focused on the night to come.

& in fifteen minutes he's already outside, breathing in the fresh air as he makes his way to the limo, parked & waiting in the driveway. ]
