[ the door slides open quietly under his push, greeting him with the sight of the mansion interior bathed in a golden yellow light -- a welcoming atmosphere. smiles, allowing himself to feel mildly impressed that the decorations were not as atrocious or in excess as the (semi-)disastrous party-meeting in their shared past. the first goal of his evening long-since decided, he gives alyssa a kiss to the forehead, brianna a silent look to communicate his intention & a final murmur of departure to his little brothers before he gently detaches himself from them -- but not for long, he hopes, for they are who he wishes to be around the most tonight -- in search of a certain boy-turned-man (mentally, at least).

is rather glad that there seems to be a distinct lack of them running around, making his search very short & effortless. gives anna a small bow & a polite (but well-meant) smile. ]

[ grumbles a little & eats the last of his tarts. ]

[ chuckles, taking one last sip of her wine before setting the empty glass on the nearest table. ]

How were Eileen and Elias before you left? Are they feeling a bit better?

[ grows a little quiet, setting his plate down on the table as well. ]

A bit. Diane's thinkin' it's just the flu, but...

But you wanted to take them to the hospital, right? [ rubs his shoulder a little bit in a comforting manner. ] It's a natural reaction.

[ gives her a relieved look & a smile, rubbing at his neck a bit. ]

Shouldn't a problem if I was a person doc, but I ain't.

[ pats his shoulder before the hand is gone. ]

You should give Sheryl a call. I'm sure she'd visit if you asked nicely.

[ looks momentarily horrified. ]

You're kidding. NO WAY IN HELL. I'll fight Diane and get the little brats to the hospital before that!

Oh? But what if I came along with her? I'd promise to hold your hand, just like when you were little.

[ quirks a smirk at this, looking childishly proud at the words. ]

[ looks away, as if second guessing her previous statement. ]

[ lets out an amused chuckle, reaching for a glass of wine when one of the waiters passes her by. ]

[ looks genuinely proud this time, also grabbing a glass of wine for himself. ]

Duh. My girl, yeah?

[ looks at his glass for a moment in thought. raises hers, an attempt at a toast. ]

To your girl, then.

[ raises it as well, a fond smile spreading across his face. ]

And my sis.

[ blinks in surprise for a split second, having not expected that. expression eventually turns warm and fond, lightly clinks her glass up against his before taking a drink to finalize it. ]

[ grins at her expression & drinks deeply, everything from his glass, raising the cup again when finished. ]

[ raises an eyebrow at him, lips still curled up into a smile. shakes her head and sighs, looking elsewhere when she's had her fill. ]

My baby is all grown up with his own family now. How time flies.
