[ the door slides open quietly under his push, greeting him with the sight of the mansion interior bathed in a golden yellow light -- a welcoming atmosphere. smiles, allowing himself to feel mildly impressed that the decorations were not as atrocious or in excess as the (semi-)disastrous party-meeting in their shared past. the first goal of his evening long-since decided, he gives alyssa a kiss to the forehead, brianna a silent look to communicate his intention & a final murmur of departure to his little brothers before he gently detaches himself from them -- but not for long, he hopes, for they are who he wishes to be around the most tonight -- in search of a certain boy-turned-man (mentally, at least).

is rather glad that there seems to be a distinct lack of them running around, making his search very short & effortless. gives anna a small bow & a polite (but well-meant) smile. ]

[ --and then just shrugs and noms one down, letting his thoughts go for now. ]

[ eats for a little longer before he suddenly freezes, followed by a hand lifting itself to point at a table at the other end of the room. ]

COFFEE SPOTTED.

[ is in mid-chew when he turns his head around quickly. ]

COFFEE!?

COFFEE. CHARGE!!

[ can only let out a muffled noise of victory, running over in that direction so that he can get there first. ]

[ is darting toward it too as well, taking larger steps to help with his haste in reaching the prize. ]

[ gets there first, quickly making himself a cup. is about to chug it down but suddenly remembers that it's really hot-- sputters when the first few drops hits his tongue. ]

DAMNIT.

[ pauses in where he is leisurely sipping at own share of the drink to snicker. ]

Real smart. S'what my little bro is.

[ blows on his own coffee and stops at damon's words, sort of puffing his chest out proudly, a stupid looking grin on his face. ]

You're damn right I'm smart!

[ just gives nathan's head a few pats upon realizing that his sarcasm was misplaced, too content with the caffeine to argue. ]

[ sips at his happily, totally thinking that was a huge compliment. pauses in his caffeinated bliss to lightly chide, per usual. ]

How's your farm doing?

[ whaps lightly. ]

Veterinary Hospital, midget. S'goin' fine, though, thanks for asking.

[ ignores the whap as best as possible, sighing as he leans a hand on the table next to them. ]

Saved any rabbits lately? Hamsters? Squirrels? Maybe a bat or two?

[ snorts & whaps again for good measure. ]

All of the above 'cept the squirrels.

[ okay, can't help but wince at that one. slowly raises an eyebrow nonetheless. ]

Do you deny their squirrely needs or something? That's not cool.

More like them denyin' any need for us docs.

Whatever! So, what other kind of animals do you treat on that farm of yours?

[ another, harder whap. ] Hospital, midget. S'not mine yet.

[ then takes another sip as he considers the answer to the question, ticking off the animals in his head. ]

Hell, prolly too many to list. All kinda pets. Sometimes gotta move my own ass when called out to farms and zoos too.

[ lets out an 'OW!' and rubs the spot, though collects himself easily enough. ]

You have to move to another location temporarily? Tough stuff. Gotta be hard when you're fat.

[ giving him a long stare & an exaggerated sigh of disappointment. ]

New insults, midget. Let's hear 'em.

[ munches on the last cake he had in his hand, pausing in taking a sip of his coffee. looks up at damon with a pathetic look on his face. ]

But I don't wanna.

[ gives him another long look, but lets it drop with a simple roll of the eyes. sips at his own coffee, looking pretty content where he stands. ]

You stayin' for the entire thing?

Eh, maybe. [ moves his cup of coffee around a bit to watch it swirl, shrugging. ] I've got work to do, but I guess it can wait.

Work, huh. You ever gonna tell me what you do?

[ grins, holding his head up high. ]
