[ is currently residing in his room, busily stitching up what seems to be one of robert's torn cloaks. the maids had pleaded earlier to allow them to do it for him, yet he was persistent to do it himself. after all, it was the least he could do for him, considering the events that had come to pass between them as of late.

the thought prompts him to stop and press the material against his lips, a silent symbol of his affection. he doesn't linger, however, quickly going back to work while humming some unknown tune to balance out the silence of the early afternoon. ]

... yes. [ lifts a hand to stroke at the material once with a few fingers. ] It is a useful skill, and it helps pass the time.

[ frowns slightly, if only because the tightening, ominous feeling in his chest. slides down from his perch, seating himself in front of robert. doesn't hesitate in bringing his other hand to his face, cupping it. ]

Will you have to leave again soon?

[ eyes lower briefly downward against his volition before coming back up. raises one of his hands to curl his fingers into annabelle's, entwining them. ]

[ opens his mouth, closing it when he realizes that he has too many questions to voice. instead he asks the most important one: ]

[ shakes his head a bit in amusement. ]

[ feels different, is what he means to say, but keeps it down in favor of leaning forward to rest against him. ]

[ blinks a little at the sudden contact, but loops his arms around annabelle regardless. buries his face into soft hair in habit, breathing out quietly. ]

[ curls his fingers around their hold on robert's tunic, murmuring quietly: ]

[ gives only a small sound of acknowledgment, keeping to the silence. ]

[ gives the top of his brother's head a small kiss in the form of immediate reply. then his hold loosens into something more comfortable as he settles himself into their current positions, simply feeling the warmth of annabelle's body. ]

[ lips twitch up into a content smile at his words, shifting only slightly to accommodate them both. feels like there are many things that need to be said, all of which will be forever unspoken.

the only thing he bravely utters is a soft "thank you" before closing his eyes and inhaling his scent, content with the fact that robert is there with him. though the lingering feeling of worry still makes him falter in this happiness, feeling as though this would be the very last time he would be held by his brother. ]
