[ a lazy summer afternoon seemed like the perfect opportunity for alyssa to drag her best friend to the tv room in the mansion; it seemed like an even better idea to play new moon as their movie of choice, having missed the chance to see it in theaters because of final exams and graduation.

she keeps quiet, too enthralled in the thought that tony had actually agreed to sit down and watch it with her... up until they get fifteen minutes into the movie, that is. shifts slightly in her position against tony, a disgruntled look appearing on her face. ]

This movie is nothing like the book!

[ wiggles away from his hold on her, sitting upright on his lap to begin a dramatic speech. ]

A woman yearns to have that love returned to her! If a boy says nothing as heartfelt in reply, it could hurt the poor girl's heart!

[ listens half-attentively, speaking a few seconds after she's done out of tact. ]

I love you too?

[ crosses her arms over her chest, looking unimpressed. ]

[ stares right back. ]

Cross my heart?

[ eyes him suspiciously... then smiles again, patting his cheeks. ]

Good enough, I suppose.

[ can't help but smile back in response. ]

I'll get there.

No rush, after all, hm? We've got all the time in the world!

[ just gives her hand another pat & then a small push. ]

Can I get up now?

[ flops bodily on him. ]

No.

[ which makes him grunt out a 'oof'. but doesn't really protest, just wiggling a bit to get more comfortable. ]

But honey. . .

[ just lies limp atop him, seemingly comfortable. ]

Yes, darling?

My bones are losing feeling.

But your bones can't lose feeling... can they?

I am an accident in our evolutionary line.

... [ pulls at his cheek with a hand. ] You look perfectly normal to me.

[ words are a little distorted when he speaks, as he doesn't bother moving away from the cheek tug. ]

You can't see it.

[ releases him and rolls off a few feet away. ]

That's no fun.

[ sits up, looks at her & shrugs while scooting a bit closer. ]

But I was born this way.

[ and she just rolls further away from his advances. ]

Excuses, excuses!

[ just keeps scooting at the same pace diligently. ]

It's my dad's fault.

[ eventually comes to a stop when bumping into a chair. stays put regardless, finally giving a smile. ]

Your dad is wonderful.

[ stops his scooting when he's within reaching distance of her & blinks, caught off guard. ]

I guess.

[ can't help but laugh at that. ]

He is, because he gave me you.

[ takes a moment to get over his surprise while a slow smile spreads across his face. ]

. . . I think I like this dating thing.

[ looks pretty pleased, reaching over to tickle his hand with a few fingers. ]

I knew you would.
