[ ignores the strange looks from the passing drivers as he travels leisurely on his scooter. the sound of the characteristic putt putt putt noise of his transportation fills the driveway when he arrives in front of the mansion. it takes him another minute (or two) to properly park & put the machine to rest.

straightens & leans back in the seat a little as he takes out his phone to quickly type a text message: let me be your guest, mademoiselle & looks up toward a window to wait. ]

[ looks downward, giving a dramatic sigh. ]

It's probably for the best...

[ clutches at her shoulders. ]

Tell me why!

[ shakes her head in mock sadness. ]

I'm afraid you and I were just never meant to be.

But I even worked hard to get a job to support our life together.

Yes, but... my father, darling, you know he would not approve!

[ dramatic pause. ]

We can run away. Start a new life in Australia.

[ gasps. ]

How could we? Do you think the kangaroos would accept us for who we really are? That our love would survive the blazing heat and dry land?

[ shakes head. ]

It'll be hard, but as long as we are together, we can be the very best that no one ever was.

[ snaps out of their dramatics in favor of facing a greater evil: ]

Pokemon! I like Pokemon! My daddy and I play it together!

[ leans away with honest surprise. ]

Pokemon? Really?

Yes! I just got the new game, too!

And-- and Generation Five is coming out soon. . .

Uh-huh! I'm thinking about importing it once it comes out. I don't think I could wait for the English version!

[ nods at her suggestion, fully understanding her impatience. moves onto his next question of utmost importance. ]

Which of the new starters do you like?

I usually like water-type pokemon, so I might get that one... what about you?

I want the pig.

[ nods a few times. ]

The pig is cute too!

I hope it's more useful than the monkey.

Chimchar was doing its very best!

But it didn't make me a master.

[ sticks her nose up in the air, finally moving to take off her helmet. ]

It just means you weren't working hard enough.

[ also gets off his scooter for the umpteenth time that night, putting the keys back into the pockets of his pants. ]

I always try first with fire, but they never work very well with me.

[ removes herself from the scooter as well, reaching out for his hand. ]

I think every boy does that.

[ takes it automatically while leading them to the front door. ]

We like having a little passion in our hearts as we battle.

[ peers at him. ]
