[ looks reluctant but stands up anyway, shuffling on over to stand next to anthony. ]

[ checks to make sure that the hand that is about to take hers doesn't have any soy sauce (or rice) on it before doing so, gently leading her along. weaves through the small-ish crowd to get to the main area, grabbing a hold of a steel bowl. ]

We will wow our tastebuds. Probably.

[ keeps on looking around curiously, mimicking anthony by picking up one of the bowls as well. looks at the selection but does not touch any of them just yet. ]

So... I put anything I want in this bowl, then?

[ starts putting in some corn, avoiding the veggies a little. ]

The amount you can eat.

I can't eat as much as my mommy, but I can eat enough!

[ breaks off from him to circle the row of food, peering at everything carefully. decides to just put in her favorite vegetables, wandering on closer to the noodles. tilts her head at them, just standing there trying to tell the difference amongst the choices. ]

[ rounds the vegetable area to reach the nuts-section & starts piling on the peanuts, ignoring the passing looks that he gets. gives alyssa a quick assessing look even as his hands don't pause. ]

The skinny ones are the cheapest.

[ blinks over at him due to his question, not even paying attention to his hoarding of peanuts. ]

What does that mean?

[ doesn't stop until he's emptied out the section. when he does, though, he scoots on over to her side. ]

They weigh the least.

But my mommy eats three times as much as my daddy does and she weighs only a little more than I do.

[ picks up some chow mein into his bowl & shakes his head. ]

Not waistline-weight. Wallet-weight.

[ thinks about it, looking in some random direction for a solid minute in silent thought. then recovers, peering down at the noodles. ]

What kind did you get?

[ points to the skinniest (lightest) noodles in the selection. ]

[ beams and picks those noodles, presenting her completed and reasonably full bowl of food to him. ]

Ta-da!

[ looks mildly impressed. ]

A natural talent in Mongolian.

[ curtsies half-way before hopping a few feet ahead... then stops. turns to anthony with a tilt of her head. ]

What do I do with this?

Sauce bath. Then the fire.

Soy sauce?

Better.

[ jerks his head toward the last set of trays. ]

[ looks down at them. ]

... there's too many! What do I get?

Teriyaki never does me wrong.

Then I'll get that too!

[ picks up the ladle and dips it into the teriyaki tray. motions for anthony to put his bowl closer to her. ]

[ extends the bowl toward her. ]

Five and a half scoops.

[ does as she's told with ease, giving him a tiny nod when she finishes. then dumps two into hers before placing the ladle back while looking around again. ]

[ glances toward where the two cooks are hard at work, handing off his bowl while motioning for alyssa to do the same. ]

Classes okay?

[ hands it over with a small "thank you!" to the man, turning back to anthony when she's done. ]
