[ sitting on his scooter out in the parking lot of the building that he knows is alyssa's last class of the day, elbows braced against the handles as he waits. only checks the clock of his cellphone once when the stream of people appear, signaling the end of the hour. thinks about texting her, but manages to refrain, quietly waiting for a certain princess to appear. ]

[ scoots back a bit to give him some room, lifting a hand to pat him on the head. ]

[ removes the hand, wrapping it around her legs again. puts her chin on top of her knees. ]

[ leans his head back against the bed for a moment. draws back shortly afterward to shift his position around to lie down on the floor next to her. glances up & the nudges at her a bit with his head. ]

Quick, let me use Rest.

[ blinks down at him. slowly smiles and lifts a hand to stroke at his hair, tracing along his eyebrows and down the bridge of his nose in a soothing manner. repeats the process a few times, trailing those fingers down to shut his eyelids before stroking the curves of his face some more. ]

Rest.

[ closes his eyes obediently, though a light frown ghosts across his face when he allows his exhaustion to peek through. ]

[ then he breathes out & gropes around for one of her hands to take in his. ]

[ slips her hand into the one searching for a companion, brushing back his hair so that she could lean down and press her forehead lightly to his. murmurs: ]

Of course.

[ & then straightens herself once more into a comfortable position. ]

[ peeks an eye open at that, watching her move & shift until she's settled. he moves then, wiggling a little closer to her so that he can twist to wrap his free arm around her while nuzzling his nose into her hair. it takes him a moment to speak, the words coming out both awkwardly & naturally in their honesty: ]

[ she knows that he means well, that the words do not mean as much as her silly little wishes hopes them to be, but she can't help but let her expression turn into something a little more sad in flavor. despite this her voice is how it usually is when she turns her head slightly to face him, deciding to return the sentiment despite the nagging in the back of her head that says that she shouldn't. ]

... I love you too.

[ closes her eyes tightly and tucks her head underneath his chin further, hoping and praying that a very long, much-needed sleep will swiftly fall upon her. ]
