[ a party at the end of finals was something alyssa had not been entirely interested in, merely shaking her head a little bit shyly when the offer was brought to her attention in class one day. of course, this was before anthony had shrugged and said they should go since the opportunity was there. why not? was what alyssa got out of it, prompting her to quickly agree with some hesitation despite herself. and this was why the girl sat tucked into a corner of one of the couches in the room, tapping the cup in her hands a little for no reason in particular other than giving herself something to do.
with her feet moving back and forth to the music that plays overhead, she sips her (thankfully untouched) punch slowly, eyes glancing around at all the students that are mingling in small groups here and there. a part of her wasn't sure why people were watching her and anthony closely every now and then, as if they knew something that she did not. nonetheless she continues to sit there in silence, glancing down at her phone every now and then to see if she has any texts from nathan-- she was sure he would be doing that throughout the duration of her stay. ]

[ the rest of it is merely mouthed as an incoherent slur. doesn't fall asleep as instantly as he wishes, instead taking the time to curl into a ball on the bed as his breathing begins to even. wonders if thinking's usually this hard (didn't someone important come back today? didn't he say something embarrassing tonight?), scrunching his nose even with his eyes closed. but, after a while, he's not just half-dazing but entirely gone, his mind tugged into sleep swiftly by the effects of alcohol. ]

grabs his keys and a jacket on his way to the door, taking one last look over his shoulder before he closes it behind him with a soft click. leans against the door when he's outside and pulls out his cellphone from his pocket, flipping through his contact list to stop and land on the H section. presses "send" when he reaches her number, putting the phone against his ear as he waits. when it skips over to voice mail he sighs through his nose a little tiredly and waits for the beep; a short message is all he leaves, making it as simple and condensed as humanly possible.
with that he steps away from his dorm and out to his car to make his way to the airport, silently hoping in the back of his mind that hilda will pull through for him with the (somewhat desperate) request he made; it is now that he'll make an exit, leaving anthony temporarily in the hands of someone greater than himself. ]
