[ continues her trek towards one of the less crowded areas of the school, holding two bags full of (homemade) food close to her chest. when she spots her company for the afternoon she shifts the excess weight to free her hands; comes up behind anthony, reaching up to put her palms over his eyes as she happily exclaims: ]

[ maneuvers the best he can in their position so that he can also lie on his side, facing her. lifts a hand to give her hair a few light pets. ]

'Kay. We'll do the date.

[ smiles widely at the petting, controlling her excitement to instead say: ]

Get your jammies on first, mister.

[ puffs out his cheeks a little. ]

But honey, I'm busy being comfortable.

[ closes her eyes, seemingly at peace despite her words. ]

I'll jump on you again~

. . . [ stares at her for a moment, as if gauging her honesty, then slowly rolls away from her & off the mattress with a soft thump. gets to his feet & rubs at the back of his head before he goes to where he had left his pajamas this morning. glances back at her, shaking his clothes a bit. ]

I go now.

[ salutes him. ]

[ salutes back. ] Ma'am.

[ & makes a show of trotting out of his room & into the bathroom, only dropping the act when the door closes behind him. yawns lazily as he starts undressing & dressing even when the speed of his movements does not change. eight seconds later, he's back in his room, shoving his clothes into a corner for later clean-up. then shuffles back on over to the bed, wiggling under the covers next to her, giving her forehead a soft bump with his own. ]

[ peeks an eye open when he returns, slowly opening the other as another smile spreads across her face. ]

Hello, handsome man. [ pushes some hair away from his face. ] Back from the war already?

[ leans into that, eyes drooping closed a tad. ]

I stubbed my toe, so they let me come home.

[ leans forward to kiss the tip of his nose. ]

Aw, my poor baby.

[ wraps an arm around her, then wiggles in a little closer. ]

I'll be a better hero next time.

[ shakes her head, tucking it underneath his chin. ]

You're already a great hero.

[ shifts so that he can mirror her actions from before, pressing his lips against the corner of her eye. stays there for a moment, murmuring against the skin: ] Sweet dreams. [ then pulls away, only to hurriedly reposition them so that he can bury his face into her hair as he tries to even his breathing. ]

. . . Now I am.

[ blinks up at him in surprise, a little confused. only smiles again when he says those words, closing her eyes once more to murmur into his chest, a little tiredly: ]

So very brave indeed.

[ closes his eyes fully, relaxing into the mattress. gropes around for the blanket to pull it over them both some more, yawning. ]

Rewards later. Sleep time?

[ can't help but give a small yawn of her own, snuggling into anthony some more. ]

Good night, darling. [ kisses the nearest spot she can reach. ] I love you.

[ nudging his nose into her hair one more time, he murmurs: ] Love you too, honey. Night.

[ & slowly, his breathing evens out, slipping into light sleep as he basks in the aftermath of a good thursday. draws her in a little closer on instinct before he fully falls asleep, breathing out one last normal breath before the puff wooo begins. through it all, his smile never wavers, securely in place as he drifts off into a peaceful slumber. ]
