[ pulls onto the street across from anthony's apartment complex to park his car, turning the vehicle off before leaning back into the seat in silence. a day when they're both free was rare to come by nowadays, thus the sudden decision to grab the boy when he was given the a-okay by anthony himself. only this time he was going to him instead of the other way around, a good way to practice on getting back into something more comfortable with the friend(s) he had not been able to spend time with as often as he would have liked. still, it was a good start, and that's really all that mattered to him.

drums his fingers against the steering wheel in thought, shaking his head before getting out of the car, pocketing his keys after he's locked up. doesn't take any time in doing the typical routine (that he had not been able to do in quite some time)-- walks in, waits for the elevator, steps inside to push the button for the correct floor number, then strolls on out when the ding signals his arrival. his feet carry him at a leisurely pace towards the apartment, arriving in no time at all; after he knocks he shoves his hands into his pockets, taking a look around the hallway as if this were his first time visiting. a moment's thought makes him grin to himself a little (the things that happened last time they were alone together, still going over that day with some fondness attached despite the bad moments), schooling the smile to instead train his eyes on the door to wait for his friend to appear. ]

[ goes a bit red as he lets go quickly. but even still, he grabs a bit of tony's shirt. tugs a bit. ]

Uh. Just follow me.

[ blinks down at him, but lets it go at that with a small nod. ]

Lead the way, then.

[ keeps his grip firm as he leads them both into his apartment building, waiting briefly at the elevator before the door dings open. steps inside & carefully tugs tony along as well. then hits his floor's button, which is when he finally feels safe enough to let go of tony's shirt, stepping back a tad so that his back hits the wall of the elevator. ]

I can hear your muscles screaming.

[ raises an eyebrow down at him, shifting the plush in his arms. ]

Me? Hah! My muscles never scream.

[ reaches forward to prod at tony's side with a finger. ]

Denial's bad for your lymph nodes.

[ grunts a little at the prod. ]

I'll never be defeated by a gigantic chicken. Never.

Don't underestimate us chickens.

You could only kill people with being cute. [ pauses briefly. ] You and Alyssa should team up and take over the world.

[ waves that off. ]

Lyssa doesn't need my help for that.

That's true.

[ squeezes the plush a little, smiling down at it. doesn't continue that line of thought as the elevator dings to signal their arrival, carefully moving away and out the door as it slides on open. ]

[ follows along, grabbing hold of tony's shirt again as he leads them a little further down the hallway to his apartment. lets his friend go so that he can unlock the door, swinging it wide open for tony. ]

After you.

[ wanders in quickly to set the plush down onto the couch, straightening and rolling his shoulder a little when the excess weight is released. looks down at it, pats its head, then turns to happily head towards the kitchen to poke around in it for his treat. ]

[ puts the cat plush on top of the bird, then wanders into his room to put the rest of his newly bought toys away. decides to quickly change into some more comfortable clothes while he's there. finished in seconds, he makes his way back toward the kitchen, standing at the entrance as he watches his friend. ]

Did you decide yet?

[ is currently hunched over the fridge, face poking into the freezer as he peers around. looks pathetic when he glances over his shoulder at anthony, drooping a little. ]

No...

[ blinks at the expression, then wanders toward him, lifting a hand to lightly ruffle at the hair again. ]

There, there. Don't cry. [ uses the other hand to open up the cupboards, glancing back at tony. ] There's candy, chips, cookies. . . ?

[ smiles widely when anthony enters, the expression growing wider when he moves elsewhere. circles around the boy to stare at his back before he jumps and wraps his arms around him, face burying into his hair as his nose rubs against the poofy strands. ]

You~!

[ stiffens & can't quite stop the kneejerk reaction of trying to elbow away in time. manages to soften the blow, however, spine straightening as he stands rigidly. ]

No! Unethical!

[ holds on tighter, rubbing his face into his hair even more. ]

But you're so yummy and nutritional!

[ twitches bodily, then relaxes bit by bit when he feels only his hair is under attack. ]

I clog up arteries.

[ makes a small humming noise. ]

I beg to differ.

[ cranes his head to look up at him. ]

40% of me is knots and hairballs.

[ looks down at him. ]

Birds don't have hairballs.

[ nudges at tony's head with his own. ]

It's a recent mutation.

[ reaches over to nudge one of the cupboard's doors open further, peering inside. ]

I want popcorn.

[ gives the arm around him a small tap in hopes of being released. ]

The other cupboard. [ points. ] I'll make it for you.
