[ double-checks that everything in the house is straightened and in its proper place, despite having cleaned everything earlier that morning. a few peeks up the stairs towards her brother's room is the only other movement she makes besides nudging things here and there, taking a seat on the edge of a chair when she realizes that it probably won't be very long now. is quite aware (was made aware) that her brother had tricked anthony into thinking they were going to meet at twelve instead of twelve-thirty, but still can't help but glance outside the front window every few minutes to make sure that she would be there when he arrived. ]

You get more excited than they do.

I am excited because they show passion despite the rigorous training. Their excitement may come later when they are accepted into a professional team of their choice.

[ sips at the lemonade thoughtfully. ]

Is there anyone that wants to make it professional that want to be a goalie?

There very well may have been.

I could. . . [ vague hand gestures. ]

[ looks down at the table in thought. ]

It would not be necessary. Did I not tell you before? The others did not try as hard as you did. The ones that did had a deplorable attitude, as if they were entitled to the position before they had even started. People like that are unsuited for professional soccer, let alone college-level. I would have rather put a rock there than have them on my team.

[ blinks. blinks again. stares. blinks yet again. stares down at his lemonade. ]

Oh. Uh. Okay.

[ nods briefly. ]

This is why I expect so much from you. [ takes a sip of his water. ] Have more confidence in yourself, Anthony. You are far from unwanted.

[ pokes her head in at this time, holding a dish with the cooked chicken on it. smiles, wandering on in. ]

Dinner's ready.

[ jerks out of the deepening blush, head popping up at anne's voice in a startled manner. meaning he blurts out his first thought: ]

Peanuts!

[ jumps a little in surprise as she sets the plate down. ]

Um... I don't think we have any peanuts, but I could go look.

... [ places a hand on his head briefly. stands when he's finished. ] It is alright, Anne. I will go bring the rest.

[ is about to protest to that, shutting her mouth when he leaves. decides to simply sit next to anthony, tilting her head a little at him. ]

Did something happen?

[ stares morosely at the chicken. ]

I think my progress with him went two steps back.

[ keeps on looking at anthony, peering up at michael when he returns to set the rest of the food on the table. back to anthony. ]

Progress?

[ waves his hand back & forth a little, not sure how else to explain it. ]

Yeah. Progress.

[ blinks, leaning back into her seat again as she looks at him in confusion. perks up once michael sits down again before turning back to anthony, gesturing at the food. ]

Please, help yourself.

After you?

Oh, no, you're the guest. Please, go ahead!

[ eyes michael briefly, then takes (what he thinks to be) an average amount of food to put on his plate. noming down on a bite shortly afterward, he gives anne a thumbs-up. ]

Much better than tacos.

[ brightens at his words, relaxing. ]

Really? I'm so glad!

You had doubts?

Mm. Since my cooking is different.

No grease doesn't mean it's bad. It's still good.

[ another smile slowly tugs at her lips, inclining her head a little in thanks. ]
