[ is helping with this & that, exchanging a few words with some people, sitting down for a few minutes with others if they were insistent -- but he's mostly on his feet or by the door, greeting & serving.

this used to be his life. he doesn't really miss it (right now, he was only here for anna; wouldn't be here otherwise). eyes go up to the clock for the umpteenth time, sighing inwardly. too much time left. too much. ]

[ thinks on those words silently to himself, then slowly and carefully sits up again, just so they're (sort of) eye-to-eye. instead of looking at him he leans back into the couch, an arm reaching over to curl around rob's shoulders, enjoying the closeness. closes his eyes again and smiles. ]

[ holds on a bit tighter, just basking in the moment. watches the people around them walk on by, pitying them for not having what he has at the moment, and hopefully will have for a very, very long time. ]
