[ it felt like bad luck the moment his cellphone rang and woke him up after four hours of sleep. it felt like even worse luck when said person on the other line told nathan that he would be saying hello to their fifth and final member to the 'team'-- alone, which was apparently due to personal reasons from his other three co-workers. this did not deter nathan from furiously texting aaron in anger, only to get a short can't come as a reply. he didn't even bother texting hana, as she still had difficulties texting with an english-language phone, but he still called her and got her voicemail message, which only made him seethe even further.

the anger eventually subsided when coffee was deposited into his hands, drinking his life force happily (or as happy as nathan could get) while turning the corner from starbucks to sit on one of the many chairs littering the front of the shop. once he settled in and tossed his bag onto the table, nathan finally felt like all was right in the world, completely forgetting his original objective for the day. his coffee was his second love, after all, and it deserved his complete and undivided attention. ]

Huh. You'd hate going to concerts, then... [ thinks, standing up to go over to his laptop. grabs his tv remote while he's up, clicking the power button before tossing the remote on top of his bed. sits next to caleb again, logging into his laptop. ]

What kind of stuff do you like?

[ leans a bit for a moment as if he's going to peer at the laptop, but pulls himself back at the last moment, resting back against the bed instead. ]

No screams. Nice music with, erm... feeling?

"Emotion", I think. [ types a few things, scrolling down his list of music. ] Soft and slow?

[ settling in, nodding as he readies for the music. ]

Soft is good.

[ finally finds something, paying mind to the volume, and then clicks play (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fo0K_n3VLG4). leans back on the bed, glancing sideways at caleb, though tries not to have his eyes on him the entire time. ]

. . . !

[ is rather surprised when the music starts, not having expected a classical piece. ]

[ eventually becomes too distracted by the music to notice the glances, soon beginning to visibly relax, eyes slipping closed for a while as his expression fans out into something peaceful. ]

[ feels... mildly accomplished by this, he thinks, but knows that he honestly cannot describe whatever else he's feeling at the moment. either way he allows himself to quietly observe, just letting the score flow without any disturbances. ]

[ eyes slowly open when the song nears the end, glancing side-ways at nathan with a soft smile at his lips. ]

Ein herzliches Dankeschön, Nathan.

[ locks gazes with him, pulling his eyes away to look down at his laptop again. decides to try his luck with a reply after some silence, though knows he can't pronounce (or say it) as naturally as caleb is able to, thus it comes out more like a question than a reply; ]

... bitte schön?

Ja. Bitte schön. [ nods approvingly. ] Very good.

[ smile eases into a grin as he relaxes against the bed some more as the music's effects wear off. ]

You is good friend. I am happy I meet you today.

[ momentary bewilderment flickers across his face, slowly contorting it into something that's not quite uncomfortable, but nothing relaxed, either. it takes him a while to settle into something more curious, then thoughtful, continuing with the silence as he mulls over caleb's words. ]

[ starts off slowly, the honesty in his voice apparent, even if his expression is somber once more. ]

You're... a good person. [ thinks to himself briefly, you deserve better, yet dares not say it aloud-- ] But thanks. Think that's the nicest thing someone has said to me in a long time.

[ simply nods & reaches out to give another of his reassuring pats, hand lingering on nathan's for a little longer to make his point. hopes that his face & actions convey what he knows that words -- even in his fluent tongue -- cannot; his look is gentle & accepting, even a little understanding.

one more pat & his hand is slowly withdrawn. ]

[ reacts only when caleb finally pulls back and away from him, suddenly realizing that something strange (comfortable, but not uncomfortable) had just happened. his face grow warm as the feeling settles in, barely sliding his laptop off his lap as he jerks away and stands up clumsily.

looks down at caleb, still looking flustered. ]

S-SO UH-- HUNGRY! Pizza! You! Yeah?!

[ jumps up a bit in surprise at the sudden yell, answering on instinct. ]

J-JA!

O-OKAY GOOD.

[ awkwardly stands there for a moment, as if his brain hasn't caught up to what he just inquired about... ]

[ scratches the back of his neck and looks away. ]

... what do you like on your pizza?

[ blinks, still a little confused at the sudden change of topic. ]

. . . ?

Erm. Pizza have cheese? Tomate is good too...

[ makes a thoughtful sound, then shrugs and picks up the phone that's connected throughout the mansion, punching in a few numbers before leaning back on his desk and waiting. ]

--yeah, hi. Pizza. [ pauses. rolls his eyes. ] I dunno! Cheese, tomatoes. [ another pause. ] ... sure, whatever, but I'm not bringing them up to her. Uh-huh. Just bring mine up when it gets here.

[ turns back to caleb after he's hung up the phone, looking satisfied. ]

There. Now we have dinner... or something.

[ still looking up at him from his seat on the floor. ]

Make in Nathan's house? Pizza?
