[ is standing near the entrance of the starbucks where he had first met nathan, looking strangely compliant & calm as he listens & reacts (as quietly & discreetly as he's capable) to the bustling crowd of the afternoon. it's not so busy as to give him a headache, but busy enough to keep him entertained as he waits for his teammate/friend. ]

[ faces him as they walk, hands flailing to try and emphasize his point. ]

This one time, when I was like... I don't know, six or something, our teacher brought a dog to school for the kids to play with. One of my brothers is really into animals or whatever, so he was all excited and stuff.

Anyway, I was minding my own business with Liam while we were waiting for our turn to pet it and stuff, when all of a sudden the stupid dog started chasing me around the playground, all barking and stuff.

It was HUGE, too! I mean, really, who brings a large dog and doesn't even keep a leash on it? Stupid thing gave me a heart attack!

[ shifts his gaze, feeling his cheeks go slightly warm as he admits: ]

But... I do like one dog. I guess...

[ has to stop in his tracks, lifting a hand to put it over his mouth. it almost seems like something's wrong for a moment there, up until he lowers that hand finally and says with a smile: ]

[ stares at him for a while before casting his eyes downward, a very small, pleased look on his face. doesn't say anything as he leads them further onward, gaze still pointedly staring at the ground. ]

[ suddenly feels uncomfortable and stops again; blinks at the large iron gates and a very familiar looking mansion, briefly surprised. feels his good mood drop a bit, trying to not sound disappointed when he speaks. ]

Oh. Back already.

[ shakes his head and turns to fully face caleb, putting a hand on his hip while gesturing with the other. ]

Well, better go report back to Aaron before it gets too late.
