[ a lazy summer afternoon seemed like the perfect opportunity for alyssa to drag her best friend to the tv room in the mansion; it seemed like an even better idea to play new moon as their movie of choice, having missed the chance to see it in theaters because of final exams and graduation.

she keeps quiet, too enthralled in the thought that tony had actually agreed to sit down and watch it with her... up until they get fifteen minutes into the movie, that is. shifts slightly in her position against tony, a disgruntled look appearing on her face. ]

This movie is nothing like the book!

[ looks down at his choice of paper, then changes it into a rock. ]

[ whaps his hand and then lifts her arms into the air, cheering for her victory. ]

[ sighs. ]

Alright. You can have all the credit for the cake.

[ pouts. ]

What! That's not what I want!

But you won.

If I won then I get to decide!

That would be bad for my health.

[ lifts her hand and whaps him on his head. ]

[ rubs his head gingerly. ]

Point proven.

[ & lifts it again, almost as a warning. ]

We'll say it's from both of us.

[ leans away, hands coming up in front of him in surrender. ]

Can't we compromise?

[ blinks and tilts her head to the side. ]

How?

When we give the cake to your mom, it'll be from me. And the cake to your dad will be from you.

[ doesn't hesitate in giving him a good whap to the head again. ]

[ 'oofs' & rubs at his head again while leaning back some more, looking honestly surprised & confused at her reaction. ]

[ ignores the look in favor of squatting down and starting a new pile of sand. ]

How about we play instead and worry about the baking mechanics later, darling.

I have good reasons to fret, honey.

[ still scoots on over back to her side to start gathering sand into a half-circle to start on his new work. ]

[ concentrates on her work, but manages to speak after a pause: ]

And why is that?

[ starts poking his hand into the sand to add details. ]

Fate and destiny.

[ turns away from her work, peeking at his. ]

That tells me nothing.

[ shakes his head & keeps on drawing. ]

It means you need more Gundam in your life.

[ smiles widely, extending her arms out in some sort of grand gesture. ]

But I'm already taking care of that!

[ pauses in his drawing to glance at her. ]

Then your moment of enlightenment is near.

Do I get a prize from you when it happens?

[ nods. ]
