[ it was with some strange stroke of luck that nathan had confirmed the non-presence of albert, brianna, and damon in the mansion for the weekend, almost suspiciously double-checking with them all to make sure; albert was off to god knows where, brianna flew out to hawaii for a photo shoot, and damon was spending some quality time with his friends before the summer officially came to a close.

nathan didn't think it would be this simple. lo and behold, the mansion was completely his for the taking for at least two and a half days. this prompted the almost juvenile-like excitement that overcame him when he invited caleb over for a real two-night stay inside the mansion, to show him where he lived (where he didn't like to live) and let him explore what he normally did not allow people to see. so this is why he tugged at caleb's hand enthusiastically, his body betraying the way he tried to school his expression, knowing somewhere in the back of his mind that in the end it was quite a futile attempt.

stops when they're far enough inside the mansion, not bothering to let caleb's hand go as he turns slightly to look at him. ]

Well, here we are. [ a pause, as if his excitement was slowly wearing off. ] Again.

[ a slow smile stretches across his face. ]

But Nathan show real world. Is different from map. Make me calm. Make me think I am here.

[ listens to him quietly, taking in the words as best as he can, given the circumstances. gives a brief look of confusion, though some type of understanding is there as well. eventually a tiny yet brief smile returns to his face, eyes going to the ground to allow his brain to work out the thoughts running through his head. ]

Well, that's 'cause you just need an eye patch. [ lifts a hand, covering caleb's left eye while squeezing his own shut. ] You can be a pirate. Pirates are pretty cool too.

[ slowly lowers the hand as his expression changes, finally switching gears. face contorts into something that's both gentle yet thoughtful at the same time. ]

I don't... have something like that. Not really, not like you, so I can't say that I know what it feels like. But... sometimes I don't think I'm in the real world either. It's kind of like-- [ pauses to think, shaking his head after a moment. ] --I can't describe it, but things are a bit blurry and I can't tell reality from whatever it is I'm stuck with. It's dark. Unreal. Maybe even a little scary.

But you've helped me see the real world too. In a different way.

[ lifts his arms and hesitates briefly, fingers twitching a bit. inhales to gather his courage before his hands cup caleb's cheeks to bring him down slowly, lifting himself up half-way to press a quiet, light kiss to the corner of his left eye. murmurs against his skin: ]

[ closes said eye & leans forward, forehead connecting with nathan's shoulder with a soft bump with a smile. ]

[ decides that it's alright to stay there a bit longer, arms wrapping around caleb's neck with a hand nestled into his hair. presses his nose into the strands, keeping to the comfortable silence for as long as he is able to. ]

[ wraps his arms around nathan's middle. nuzzles against his neck, planting a small kiss to it. ]

Ich werde Sie hegen. Mit allem, was ich habe.

[ fidgets a bit, feeling a stab of uncharacteristic bashfulness as he draws back. ]

Look more?

[ has to hold on a bit tighter after he feels caleb's lips on his neck, accompanied with the words that are foreign to him. seems to recover better this time, however, just allowing his face to redden however much it pleases in favor of losing feeling in his legs again. ]

Y-yeah... look more.

[ gives nathan's back another comforting rub, then pulls back gently until they are once again only connected via hands. gives a small squeeze, then starts glancing around again. ]

Here is best place to look?

[ gaze goes out towards the area as well, head tilted a bit in thought. smiles over at him. ]

Well, it's a pretty big place. How about you choose where we should go?

Is okay?! No place I cannot go?

[ gestures with his free hand. ]

It's all yours tonight.

[ gives the garden one more glance, then turns to nathan to give him another smile & starts tugging him further down the steps. ]

Then we go.

... okay.

[ smiles bashfully at that, giving him a small nod while following him to wherever he wishes to go. ]
