[ sitting on his scooter out in the parking lot of the building that he knows is alyssa's last class of the day, elbows braced against the handles as he waits. only checks the clock of his cellphone once when the stream of people appear, signaling the end of the hour. thinks about texting her, but manages to refrain, quietly waiting for a certain princess to appear. ]

[ slumps a bit, then deciding that it'd only be fair to be just as honest. ]

It's not. . . as big as this. As you think. I didn't. . . it's not. . . [ stops talking in lieu of pressing his lips to the corner of an eye. draws back after a long moment. ] It's not something that should hurt you.

[ closes her eyes briefly at the contact, peering up at him after. just looks down at her feet again, shaking her head once. ]

You're right, it shouldn't. That's why I shouldn't have done what I did. I... was being extremely selfish, though. I clung onto you for too long. I realized that after some time, so I did what I needed to do.

[ eyes go soft as she lifts a hand, stroking his hair once, the hand stilling when she says: ]

... it'll be okay. I'm a big girl now. I know my boundaries and limitations. The princess can't be protected forever, after all.

[ lips spread into a smile, lifting to put both of her hands on his cheeks. leans in to press their foreheads together, just like he had done moments before. ]

You're so silly. You can still protect me. You don't have to share the same sentiments as I do, nor do you have to force yourself because of being conflicted. I don't want that. I want you to be you.

[ shuffles off the bed to squat down onto the floor in front of anthony. wraps arms around her legs, tilts her head at him in thought. ]

[ glances down at her, then slides off the bed onto the floor as well, wedging himself in between her & the bed. ]

But Chimchar and I are mortal enemies.

[ leans his head back against the bed for a moment. draws back shortly afterward to shift his position around to lie down on the floor next to her. glances up & the nudges at her a bit with his head. ]

Quick, let me use Rest.

[ blinks down at him. slowly smiles and lifts a hand to stroke at his hair, tracing along his eyebrows and down the bridge of his nose in a soothing manner. repeats the process a few times, trailing those fingers down to shut his eyelids before stroking the curves of his face some more. ]
