[ yawns and stretches as he sits on the edge of the bed, his back to the female who is slowly starting to get dressed. flops backwards to peer up at her, giving some snide remark before she pops him on the nose with a hand in retribution. forgoes the shirt he was reaching for, instead rolling off the mattress to playfully plead with her to stay for a few more hours, though the joke is already lost once she steps into the bathroom to fix her hair.

grins a bit at that but dutifully moves out of her way, making a beeline back to his bedroom. lazily scratches at his already-frizzy hair as he leans against the doorway, not paying much attention to anything in particular. eventually his expression grows dimmer, eyes going up to the ceiling before they narrow slightly. finds himself unable to throw away the feeling of uneasiness that nestles into the pit of his stomach, almost as if something terrible had happened without him knowing. ]

[ shrugs a little. ]

I got fired?

[ a hurt expression flickers over his face. ]

Don't--

[ & then sits up within the pause, turning to face him fully again. opens his mouth, closes it. bows his head a bit, feeling his resolve finally crumble. looks away before inhaling, exhaling. closes his eyes and nods. ]

... I will, then.

[ swallows thickly when he sees that hurt on tony's face, making him lift his hands in an instinctive need to comfort. cups at his face like he's done before, not bothering to stop the next words from spilling out, feeling safe in the knowledge that things will be okay in the ways that matter most even despite this. ]

Tony.

[ straightens his back so that he's at a better height for what he's about to do next. only hesitates for just a second to push aside the remains of his logic. ]

This is a bad idea. So forget about this tomorrow. [ leans in to kiss him, a long press of lips. then draws back & murmurs: ] Thanks.

[ looks mildly surprised in the duration of the kiss, thrown slightly off-guard at anthony's aggressive behavior. worries for a split-second, wondering if he should even be worried (the look on his face confirmed enough already) before he mentally shakes it off, replacing it with a soft smile when the kiss comes to a close. ]

Why would I want to forget it? I don't mind at all. [ lifts a hand, stroking his face once with the back of it. ] You have nothing to worry about. It's our secret.

[ nods once & leans away from the touch, resting his back against the armrest again. seems to be calmer again, if just a little tired. motions to the plate. ]

Done?

Nope. [ snatches the sandwich, munching on it. ] Don't want to put something that you put your heart into to go to waste.

Besides, you make the best sandwiches ever ever ever. Yeah?

[ rests his head against the couch as he watches tony eat. ]

It's an evolving art.

[ keeps on eating, focused mainly on that while absently reaching over to ruffles anthony's hair lightly. ]

Guess you'll be the woman of the house once you get married.

[ bumps that hand affectionately, but draws back after a moment once again, shifting awkwardly. ]

Cooking the extra special bacon.

[ obediently removes the hand, pressing it against the couch's cushion to lean against it a bit. ]

Sounds delicious.

[ eats the last of his sandwich, giving a shrug. ]

Eh. What can I say, a boy gets hungry.

[ eyes him critically. then covers the upper half of his face with a hand. ]

. . . Can't remember the response to this.

[ shakes his head, getting up from his perch to take his plate to the kitchen. ]

It'll come to you.

[ lowers the hand when he feels tony move, reaching for the water bottle for a sip. ]

Probably. Maybe during an exam.

Now that wouldn't be good. [ takes a moment to voice another thought as he washes out the dish. hesitates on putting it on the counter, remembering that anthony took the time to clean it. puts it away in the cabinet instead. ] Doing anything for our next break?

[ gnaws thoughtfully on the rim of the water bottle. ]

Not really. You?

[ frowns slightly at the sink in thought, briefly thinking about the things he doesn't want to think about. ]

[ turns when he's had his moment, leaning on the counter with a smile. ]

Nope! Think this calls for manly bonding time.

[ snorts tiredly as he closes his eyes. ]

6 AM again?

[ smirks a bit at that. ]

Naw.

[ pauses and stares at anthony, drumming his fingers against the counter in thought... ]
