[ exactly three and a half months later alyssa returned from her trip with her parents, feeling refreshed and rather happy in the face of what she considered a new beginning. the change of scenery was needed, as well as the lost (& hopefully only brief) contact between friends gave her more of a reason to keep going on strong; to mend things, to make things right again.

it is now that she returns to the campus, having decided that it was best to move back in with her parents for the time being. thinks she merely missed home too much to properly focus on things that needed to be focused on, knowing that the change was necessary and very much so welcomed (from her dad especially). at the moment she resides under one of the trees a bit further out from the building where her first class was held in, contently reading a book to pass the hours until her next class started. flips through it leisurely, eyes trained to focus on that and nothing more. tucks a strand of now-short hair behind an ear, feeling calm and at peace with the world as a whole. ]

[ at her words, he feels himself lean into that hand for a change, making him blink when he snaps out of it. still, it's enough to make him look a little more hopeful as he wills himself to pull away, turn around & walk toward the proper building for his class. ]

[ watches his back as he goes along, hands still hovering in place. blinks out of her stupor, almost as if she had gone into a daze at some point or another. lets her hands fall as she slowly smiles, feeling better (more secure, less scared) from anthony's hug. when she sits under the tree, however, her expression falters, placing her hands on her stomach as if in pain. ]

... my tummy hurts.

[ sits like that for a while, only reaching off to the side to grab her cellphone from her bag once she feels steady enough. quickly presses the "2" button on her phone, lifts it up against her ear, then hopes that the other person on the line will answer the phone as soon as possible. ]
