[ isn't entirely there even when the plane comes to a complete stop; the noise ringing in his head is as painful as he remembers it being, making him sway a bit while pressing a hand to his forehead. the world before his eyes seems to double, triple, merge back into one, then double again, while the blueprint-world throbs in noisy emptiness. makes small whimpering noises when they're walking, barely hanging onto consciousness by focusing on that comforting, erratic heartbeat he knows is near.

gropes around for a smaller hand that he knows is around (but can't remember why it would be right this moment) while mumbling absentmindedly under his breath in german, as if he's welcoming himself back home. ]

[ shakes his head. ]

Is new book, but learn from book. Hilda always give good book.

Huh... [ ends up just shrugging and putting it under his arm, adjusting the weight of the bag he's holding. ] Well, guess we'll read it later or something.

[ also does some adjusting, emitting a slightly strained grunt before he starts shuffling out the door. ]

Learn with Nathan. Easy, because Nathan is smart.

[ briefly thinks about asking if he needs help, pushing it down when caleb's words reach his ears. snorts and begins to walk as well. ]

Yeah, would be much easier if I could read German.

Is okay! I read German, and Nathan have internet!

[ briefly pauses to think. raises an eyebrow, scooting on forward. ]

That... works. I guess.

[ pauses in answering when they get to the stairs, focusing his concentration on not toppling forward as he starts making slow progress while tugging the luggage along sluggishly. ]

[ watches him, keeping a safe distance away. smiles and decides to cheer, albeit a little less enthusiastically than one would usually adhere to: ]

Go Caleb go. You can do it.

[ almost stumbles several times before he reaches the base of the stairs. doesn't seem as winded as he is relieved when the deed is done, giving the luggage a quick glance to make sure that they're not too banged up. ]

[ does his own waddling routine down the steps, standing there dumbly for a moment. decides to praise him, though it's a little less enthusiastic than before due to his lack of sleep finally catching up with him: ]

Hurrah. Good boy. Superman.

[ peers at him curiously when he hears what he believes to be exhaustion, releasing the bigger bags to reach out toward him. ]

Nathan, okay? Hungry? Sleep?

[ yawns and leans down to bump the hand a little pathetically despite his next words. ]

Little tired, but m'okay. Sleep later. Foreign food soon.

[ keeps his hands out insistently, asking for contact while shaking his head. ]

But. . . Nathan sound is slow. Food is bad when need sleep. Bad for stomach. [ pauses a bit, remembering something. ] I know! Hurt a lot.

[ gives him a look, but on instinct his body moves forward anyway and into those arms. ]

Food is bad for my stomach no matter what. [ shifts a bit, putting his head on caleb's chest. ] Besides, shouldn't sleep since she's making something right now, right? Would be rude. Or something.

[ wraps his arms around nathan gently, content with just holding him for now while he hones in on the latter bit. ]

Hilda is nice! She is not mad. Understand everything.

[ seems to slowly come out of his sleepy haze when he hears her name, the words throwing him back into reality. ]

Y-yeah, but... I should uh. B-be polite... good impressions. S-stuff like that.

[ grins & nuzzles his nose into nathan's hair. ]

Nein! Hilda like Nathan!

[ peers up at him hopefully. ]

Really...?

[ bends his head down to give him a quick peck to the lips. ]

Ja.

[ looks down at his feet. shuffles them a little before nodding, deciding that it's alright to comply. ]

Okay...

[ nuzzles again. ]

Nathan is okay as Nathan. Be Nathan, and Hilda is happy.

W-well. She's important to you, s-so. Don't wanna... [ pauses. closes his eyes and leans into him more, feeling tired again. ] Something.

[ shifts his grip a little for mutual comfort while glancing down at him in slight worry. then after a few more moments of thought, he gives a light squeeze before leaning away to press his forehead against the smaller boy's. ]

Nathan. Sleep together?

[ wobbles a bit, lifting a hand to rub at his eyes when caleb leans away. lets some of his weight rest forward to their connected foreheads. stares at him for a moment. finally gives in with a small sigh. ]

... 'kay.

[ leans forward again, angling his face a little so that he can give the bridge of nathan's nose another kiss. ]
