[ isn't entirely there even when the plane comes to a complete stop; the noise ringing in his head is as painful as he remembers it being, making him sway a bit while pressing a hand to his forehead. the world before his eyes seems to double, triple, merge back into one, then double again, while the blueprint-world throbs in noisy emptiness. makes small whimpering noises when they're walking, barely hanging onto consciousness by focusing on that comforting, erratic heartbeat he knows is near.

gropes around for a smaller hand that he knows is around (but can't remember why it would be right this moment) while mumbling absentmindedly under his breath in german, as if he's welcoming himself back home. ]

[ stares down at his lap, almost as if he's feeling guilty for something. doesn't move, however, curling those hands into fists. ]

I know, but you're... [ stops. frowns a bit, shaking his head. ] I guess I really am just a kid.

[ quirks a small smile as he scoots on even closer, wrapping his arms around nathan again. kisses the top of his head. ]

I am kid too, but everyone is kid first time. But everyone grow, and learn. So I learn and grow with Nathan. Learn and grow together.

[ slumps his shoulders, finding himself relaxing fraction by fraction. lips quirk into a tiny smile for a brief second, arms lifting to also hold onto him loosely, then a bit tighter. presses his face into caleb's chest and nods slowly, humming out a sound of acknowledgment and understanding. ]

[ strokes his back soothingly. ]

Nathan is okay?

[ buries into him further, still feeling embarrassed despite his words. ]

Y-yeah... sorry...

[ nuzzles, but doesn't try to look at him, allowing him his space. ]

Is okay. I am not mad.

[ while he finally decides to look up and peer at him shyly. quickly lifts to peck him on the cheek, settling again as he wills himself to not turn his eyes away this time. ]

T-thanks.

[ smiles back at him fondly & leans in to touch their foreheads together. speaks quietly. ]

Gern geschehen.

[ closes his eyes briefly within the contact, but opens them again when he hears those words. ]

... what was that?

[ repeats obediently: ]

Gern geschehen.

[ shakes his head with a smile. ]

Still don't know German, I guess.

Nathan learn! But in English is 'you're welcome'.

... I should've known that.

[ pats. ]

Is okay. Deutsch have a lot of 'you're welcome'.

[ scratches the back of his own head with a sigh. ]

This is gonna be difficult. I foresee much pain in the future.

[ shakes his head. ]

Deutsch is fun! I help! Hilda help too!

Or I could get one of those books on CD for the plane ride back. "How to Learn German in 24 Hours."

[ blinks. ]
