[ it had been one of those days for alyssa, the ones that rendered her unable to attend classes for more than a few hours-- the ones that had nathan running to her as quickly as possible. thankfully her health and mood seemed to improve throughout the afternoon, giving nathan time to decide whether or not to call albert. when she seemed fine in less time than usual he decided against it, instead suggesting some things for them to do to pass the time. of course, a disney film reigned supreme.

when their movie came to a close nathan turned to look down at alyssa, the girl curled up with her head on his lap, dozing off into what seemed to be a peaceful sleep. he didn't take any time in picking her up gently and moving towards his room, laying her down on top of his bed before grabbing a blanket and putting it over her small body. smiles down at her and brushes a hand against her hair, shutting the door half-way when he makes it back into the living room to start picking up the steadily growing mess that had accumulated throughout the hours of her stay. ]

[ smiles up at him again when an idea strikes her. ]

But maybe I can have frozen yogurt! That's not too bad, is it?

[ leans back against the couch with an awkward shrug. ]

[ almost looks a little upset behind her confusion. ]

Why did you call him that?

[ blinks again, catching the shift immediately. ]

. . . Sorry?

[ blinks a bit while still looking confused, though for other reasons this time. just smiles after a moment and lifts her hands, patting his cheeks as she says, a bit jokingly: ]

It's okay, I forgive you.

[ exhales through his nose & shakes his head. ]

Life has meaning again.

Then I guess that means I'm special to you, right?

[ doesn't verbally respond, instead looking down at her with a bit of a d'uh expression. ]

[ laughs at that, lifting up enough to give him a big kiss on his nose. rolls off the couch afterward, crawling around on the ground to look around for her fuzzball. peers under the table, finding her there. ]

Fifi! Come out and play! Anthony's not mad at you!

[ immediately draws up both legs onto the couch, scooting himself into the corner as he makes himself as small as possible. peers over his shoulder in her general direction. ]

No, shoo!

[ doesn't hear him, too busy coaxing the kitten to come off of one of the chairs. meows a few times and nabs her when she responds, standing up and trotting back over to anthony. holds her up. ]

[ just shrinks back a bit more. ]

[ gently puts the kitten down. it just makes a hissing noise at anthony before running off into nathan's room again. ]

[ watches it leave, eyes still trained on nathan's door when he speaks. ]

[ smiles slowly, taking a few steps forward so that she can sit on his lap when he finally unwinds fully. ]
