[ hits send on the text message to alyssa -- that he's coming to visit for a short while -- before he starts up his scooter & steers himself in the direction of nathan's apartment. his backpack is holding only one thing, but it's precious enough of a bundle that he wears the backpack against his stomach. ignores the looks he's getting both on & off the street, parking tinkerbell in her usual corner spot. it's been almost two weeks since he's saw her (two weeks to recover), which is why he'd armed himself with a present in apology.

stands in front of the door to the stairs for a moment, wondering if he's feeling up to the physical exertion today-- then just changes direction to walk in the direction of the elevator. glances up at the ceiling of it when he's on board & pressed the proper number, feeling a little nervous for no reasons he could consciously finger. decides to shrug it off the best he can when he shuffles off it, rummaging around his backpack to take out the wrapped present before something (someone?) in front of a door catches his eye.

... stops. blinks. ]

. . . ? [ belatedly realizes that the boy is front of the door he needs to reach, making him pause, blink & speak: ] . . . Hi.

[ shakes his head, his answer coming to him instantly. ]

I'm bad with people. Strangers.

[ is obviously hopeful with his next words. ]

「 Am I special, then? 」

[ lips twitch again, but manages to keep his expression intact. seems a bit embarrassed as well, struggling past the creeping blush. ]

. . . Yes. [ pauses, then adds: ] L-Little brother is special.

[ gives a considering look for a moment or two. scoots out of his chair and goes over to anthony, giving him a hug around his middle. releases a hand to type: ]

「 Onii-san is special too. 」

[ puts the arm around him again, face pressed against him. ]

[ does not immediately respond, a little startled by the gesture. when he recovers, he slowly wraps his own arms around hiro, the rest of his body bending a tad so that he can push his nose against the boy's hair. ]

. . . Thanks. [ for many things, but doesn't voice that for now, content in simply enjoying this moment. ]

[ buries into him a little bit more, squeezing a little in appreciation. peers up when another thought comes to him, slowly typing and holding up the cellphone for anthony to see. ]

「 Is it really okay? 」 [ pauses to specify: ] 「 To stay here until someone comes back? 」

[ nuzzles his nose into hiro's hair, then straightens to give him a nod. ]

Yeah. It'd be nice if. . . if you could stay.

「 Okay. I'll stay. 」 ... 「 Even if I can camp as good as Red. 」

[ reaches up to give him a poke to the forehead-- then stops, dropping his hand to shake his head instead. ]

No one can be as good as Red. He's the Master.

[ puffs out his chest. ]

「 I can. 」

[ pats his head. ]

One day, grasshopper.

[ takes that as a good enough answer, looking pleased as he nods. ]

「 He's my hero. 」

[ nods in approval. ]

He's the very best.

... !

「 English lyrics to Pocket Monsters. I know them too. 」

[ blinks. ]

. . . Really? You've watched the English version before?

[ nods his head happily. ]

「 When I was learning more English. 」

Learning languages through Pokemon should be added to every educational system.

「 Yes. They have it in French, too. 」 [ stops to think. ] 「 Bonjour! 」

. . .

[ puts a hand on hiro's head again. ] How many languages do you know?

「 Japanese and English only, but I know some Spanish. Si. Uno. Ole. 」

And some French?

「 Bonjour. 」

You'll get there. [ another pat, then moves that hand to give hiro's arm -- the one still wrapped around him -- a small tap. gestures to the food. ] Are you full?

[ blinks at the tap, removing the arm to step back a pace. looks over at his food, then back at anthony to give him a nod. ]

Okay. I'll clean this then.

[ points down the hall, toward where the bathroom is. ] You can go freshen up, if you want.
