[ a party at the end of finals was something alyssa had not been entirely interested in, merely shaking her head a little bit shyly when the offer was brought to her attention in class one day. of course, this was before anthony had shrugged and said they should go since the opportunity was there. why not? was what alyssa got out of it, prompting her to quickly agree with some hesitation despite herself. and this was why the girl sat tucked into a corner of one of the couches in the room, tapping the cup in her hands a little for no reason in particular other than giving herself something to do.
with her feet moving back and forth to the music that plays overhead, she sips her (thankfully untouched) punch slowly, eyes glancing around at all the students that are mingling in small groups here and there. a part of her wasn't sure why people were watching her and anthony closely every now and then, as if they knew something that she did not. nonetheless she continues to sit there in silence, glancing down at her phone every now and then to see if she has any texts from nathan-- she was sure he would be doing that throughout the duration of her stay. ]

[ that's the only warning he'll give him as he slowly lowers a knee to the ground, releasing his arms from their hold on his friend (at a snail's pace, just in case). ]

stops these thoughts when they end up at his door uninjured (by some miracle, in his honest opinion), using his free hand to unlock the door. pushes it open and pulls it closed behind anthony when the boy makes it through, tossing the keys towards the couch without a passing glance as he tugs them into his room. ]

crawls on top of him and braces his hands on the mattress, both of them pillars on either side of anthony's head. but he doesn't make any movement just yet, simply staring down at the boy as if just observing him more than anything else, slowly letting his eyes adjust to the darkness and moonlight that seeps through the half-opened shades. ]

. . . What are you doing? Why. . . why are you hurting? What's wrong?

Nothing. I'm giving you what you want. [ pauses, eyebrows scrunching together for a brief second. ] This is what you wanted... right?

. . . ? This? No, not this. Not if you. . . not if it's. . . just this.
