[ he's not sure how, but he's absolutely certain that it's one of those mornings where waking up would be a Bad Idea. even when he's only half-awake, he can feel the dull throb in his head, signaling the presence of a progressively worsening migraine. presses a hand to his forehead gingerly as he peeks open one eye. shuts it immediately when the light amplifies the headache even further. somehow manages to roll over onto his side with a soft groan, expression twisting into one of pain as he patterns out his breathing.

several minutes later, reattempts at opening his eyes. is successful this time, leaving him to blink owlishly at the blurry image of the (foreign-but-not) room laid out before him. jerks bodily when he realizes that this is not his room, but tony's. doesn't quite get to the point of throwing himself off the bed, however, hindered quite successfully by the pounding headache. feels slightly better upon realizing that tony's strangely absent, filling him with a sense of hope that he can get away unscathed. as such, he stubbornly pushes down the memories as he wraps his arms around his head, concentrating on breathing & recovering so that he can escape as soon as possible. ]

[ shakes his head and waves his hands a little. ]

O-Oh, no, I didn't mean that he wasn't-!

[ turns his face away toward the plants when he feels it heat up again. ]

Y-Yeah. . . thank you. But he said we could go back together, so. . . And this shop is safe.

[ makes a small mm sound, shifting a bit in place before going back to checking the plants and doing his typical routine when no customers are around. ]

[ also keeps at his routine, watering & peering at the plants in his corner of the shop diligently. cannot, however, seem to help but glance upward once in a while, at the little room situated upstairs. kicks himself into scurrying around the rest of the shop whenever he catches himself do that, helping here & there with everything. but his actions are more nervous -- or excited? -- than usual, a small smile twitching at his lips every once in a while. when they do receive customers, he spares them from his usual dry tone, instead going for a more neutral one.

when his shift finally draws to a close, he hurriedly puts away his tools, re-checks the plants & slip off his apron. hangs it over an arm while turning to glance at oliver. gives him a small salute. ]

I'll see you on the weekend, boss.

[ turns away from the cash register when he's done counting the money (even if he has to do it several times), giving anthony a happy smile and a little wave to go along with it. ]

Alright. Have fun with your brother!

[ answers with an excited nod. that done, he puts away the apron & shuffles on upstairs in almost record speed. thankfully doesn't trip on the way up, only slowing down when he about arrives. knocks on one of the walls to signal his (re-)arrival. ]

[ head jerks up instantly at anthony's appearance, standing and shuffling on over with his DS still in hand. tugs a little on his shirt, bouncing lightly on his heels. takes out his phone, typing: ]

「 Welcome back, onii-chan. 」

[ ruffles his hair gently. ]

Thanks. Ready to go?

[ nods excitedly, scrambling to put both his game away and take one of anthony's hands with one of his own at the same time. ]

[ gives that hand a squeeze & starts leading them downstairs. ]

Hope you weren't too bored.

[ shakes his head back and forth slowly. ]

「 I was playing Pokemon. 」

[ glances back at him curiously. ]

Are you a master yet?

「 Almost. 」 [ waits a beat. ] 「 I need to finish White before I am a master. 」

[ ... looks extremely envious. ]

You beat Black already?

[ seems to puff out his chest a little bit. ]

「 Yes. 」

[ while he speaks despairingly: ]

I still have to wait 'til March. . .

「 You can borrow my Black if you want. 」

[ shakes his head. ]

It's okay. A true fan must wait.

[ mirrors hiro's previous motion of puffing out his chest. ]

I will be strong. To become a master.
