[ he's not sure how, but he's absolutely certain that it's one of those mornings where waking up would be a Bad Idea. even when he's only half-awake, he can feel the dull throb in his head, signaling the presence of a progressively worsening migraine. presses a hand to his forehead gingerly as he peeks open one eye. shuts it immediately when the light amplifies the headache even further. somehow manages to roll over onto his side with a soft groan, expression twisting into one of pain as he patterns out his breathing.

several minutes later, reattempts at opening his eyes. is successful this time, leaving him to blink owlishly at the blurry image of the (foreign-but-not) room laid out before him. jerks bodily when he realizes that this is not his room, but tony's. doesn't quite get to the point of throwing himself off the bed, however, hindered quite successfully by the pounding headache. feels slightly better upon realizing that tony's strangely absent, filling him with a sense of hope that he can get away unscathed. as such, he stubbornly pushes down the memories as he wraps his arms around his head, concentrating on breathing & recovering so that he can escape as soon as possible. ]

[ with no fuzzy-haired boy to tend to for another good handful of hours she had taken to cleaning up tony's dorm, picking up what was on the ground and slowly putting away the dishes that seemed to have been horribly misplaced. even if it wasn't a request, it gave her something to do while she waited out the remainder of time that anthony would be asleep, already in the midst of readying what she thought was the most appropriate of things to fix when needing to cure a hangover: sauerkraut juice mixed with a hint of tomato juice, vitamin C, and chicken noodle soup.

when everything is ready she sets the tray down on the night table closest to where her chair is located, seating herself once more as she watches the boy in the bed sleep soundly. crosses her legs, humming a little to herself as she looks around the room, only stopping when she sees anthony finally make some kind of movement. sits up straighter, peering down at him. it is only when he tries to conceal himself does she speak, giving a rather cheerful greeting despite the boy's obvious pain: ]

Guten Morgen, dumme Huhn! Wakey wakey!

[ flinches at the voice when the sound intensifies the head throbbing for a bit. stills & slowly stares up at the foreign woman in misery. ]

. . . No. [ tries to re-curl. ]

[ beams at him responding, even if it's negatively. stands up to place a hand on him to shake him a little. ]

HRK. Yield, yield! Abandon ship!

[ laughs at him, stopping the motion but not removing the placement of her hand. ]

Tony had warned me about your strange language!

[ & then she ceases the contact, placing her hands on her hips. ]

Worry not, I know much English. There is no ship here!

[ swallows the kneejerk reaction with a blink when he seems to realize something. carefully sits up, a hand pressed to his forehead. ]

Tony's. . . not home?

Nein! [ takes a seat on the edge of the bed, fiddling with the cap to the bottle of water that she had previously been sipping from after she picks up the vitamin C tablets from the tray. ] He is in France.

[ stares at her dumbly. ]

F-Fr-- [ clears his throat a bit. ] France? He went-- back?

Ja! [ picks up one of his hands, placing the tablets there. holds out the water to him as well. ] That is why I am here, yes?

[ takes the water & glances down at his lap. ]

Oh.

[ closes eyes for a bit, draws in a breath, then downs the pill. ]

. . . But I must still jump ship.

a few days later...

[ when the day for anthony to return to the shop drew near he couldn't help but fret, staring down at his cellphone just in case the boy had decided that he still didn't feel well. this resulted in many of simon's famous rants when he caught sight of said fretting, but he still couldn't help but worry.

this is why his eyes had continuously been darting from the cellphone to the door, nearly missing a good chunk of customers that had decided to bombard him earlier that morning. the quiet atmosphere that fills the shop at current is a blessing, but also a curse as he continues to wait for anthony's appearance. ]

[ & in the distance is the telltale sign of his arrival -- putt putt putt. he takes tinkerbell around the shop to park behind the building (he only does this when simon is back; a precautionary action). after she quiets down, he pockets the keys & shuffles inside through the backdoor, peeking at the interior for a moment to make sure there is only one (short) blond head. knocks on one of the walls to signal his presence to his boss when he deems it to be safe. ]

Good afternoon.

[ jumps a little in his seat when he hears anthony's voice, completely forgetting that he would most likely be entering from the back entrance. places his cellphone down on the counter as he slides off his stool, wandering on over to peer up at anthony, clearly worried. ]

G-Good afternoon... [ lifts a hand, as if to touch him. ] Are you alright...?

[ gently takes that hand in his with a small smile. ]

I'm okay, boss. Sorry to have worried you.

I went to a party and. . . drank bad punch. A lot of it.
