[ her daily routine started off as it usually did: crawling out of bed and plopping on the floor, letting out a little oof! at the impact. picking herself up, she makes her way to her bathroom in a hurry to do her business, throwing her hands up in the air when she scurries out into her room in a victory! fashion. after that she throws open her closet and drawers, rummaging around to pick out an outfit for the day.

pulls her shirt over her head, snaps her jumper on, then picks up her pajamas to set them on her bed neatly; her personal (ninja) maid would surely put it into the wash for her. fistpumps once, quickly crawling onto her bed to pet ~~her fat kitty~~ catbert, telling him to be good while she goes to find daddy before zipping out of the room at top-speed.

says a quick HI, BYE! to one of the maids along the way, zooming and rolling around to peer into every corner to find albert. stands up from peeking underneath a bed to tap her chin, going AH-HAH! when a thought strikes her; the study was her final destination. and when she gets there and sees her daddy she snickers, quietly crawling on the ground slowly so that he wouldn't notice her right away. peeks up over the table, beaming when she sees a plate of cheese there. shifty-eyes to albert, reaching a hand out to nab a few pieces and plop onto the ground.

& that's the pattern she'll have for a while, continuing on ~~stealing~~ nomming down the cheese as quietly as possible, her previous mission long forgotten in the face of a cheesy-delicious breakfast. ]

[ crosses her arms over her chest. ]

It smelled good. [ points at his cup. ] You live a lie, drink!

[ breaks into yet another string of chuckles. ]

Yes, it's. . . [ some more laughter. ] Quite unfortunate.

[ puffs out her cheeks in silence, glaring at it as she takes more sips of her juice. ]

[ while he takes a sip of his coffee yet again. ]

Was there anything else you wished to eat?

Ice cream, candy, cookies...

Right away, or with your mother, later on?

Mommy! [ arms fly up into the air. ] Daddy should play with me instead!

What shall we play?

Anything daddy wants to play.

You know my preferences, little princess.

[ lifts a hand, counting off on her fingers. ]

Daddy likes to read... preen... cuddle me and mommy...

Very good. At the moment, I'd like to choose the first and third of your list.

But you like playing the drawing game too. We should play that first.

[ raises a brow. ]

As you wish.

[ nods happily and wiggles out of her seat, reaching up to nab her plate and cup. shows them to albert. ]

It's good to clean up after yourself. Elmo told me so!

[ ... and then she waddles off to set them in the kitchen. ]

[ stares where he is, an elbow propped on the table as he watches her move about fondly. ]

Elmo?

[ zips back to the table, picking up her juice box before scooting to stand next to albert's chair. looks up at him, sparkling. ]

Elmo is a character on Sesame Street! He's red and has big eyes and an orange nose!

[ takes in this description. grows still as he tries to work it out in his mind. ]

Hm. Fox-shaped?

No, daddy, no. [ gestures with her hands a little. ] He's person-shaped! And has a funny mouth.

[ eyes slowly glazing... ]

A mixture, then?

[ lifts a hand to pat his arm. ]

Oh, daddy. I'll draw a picture of him for you.

[ blinks once, then seems to snap out of it. ]

Ah, that would be preferable.

[ another pat to the arm before she reaches for his hand instead. ]

I'll draw all of his friends, too. Like Big Bird and the Cookie Monster.

[ takes her hand & gets to his feet, while holding his cup of coffee in his other hand. ]

And what should I draw in response to that?

[ begins their walk, imitating albert again with her humming. ]
