[ having decided that meeting anthony half-way would be best for this particular... conversation, he walks a bit slowly, quite aware that his dorm was closer to the school than his friend-slash-goalie's house. (that and he would probably have to struggle with his mode of transportation for a while.) so instead of the usual ten minutes it takes him to arrive to this particular destination, he gives himself thirty, casually making his way to one of the benches underneath a tree.

takes a seat, pulls out his cellphone, then begins to check his messages as he waits; it would be at least another fifteen minute wait, one he was finally willing to be patient for. after all, he wasn't expecting much, anyway. when it came to feelings, expectations were the worst things to have, or so he had logically deducted throughout his childhood. besides, it wouldn't be the end of the world if anything negative happened. this was anthony, after all, the boy who clucked and bawked louder than he spoke or made any semblance of sense with his words.

... it almost made him second-guess himself. almost.

pockets his phone and tilts his head backwards instead, letting it rest against the top of the bench. just simply stares up into the branches and leaves of the tree, allowing himself to show a rare display of being lost in some non-thoughts for the time being. ]

I hereby decree that you must spoil her. [ then holds out his hand expectantly. ]

[ reaches over, grabbing one of the gummy worms. places it into anthony's palm. goes back to his menu in silence. ]

[ noms that down. then leans forward to be able to stick his hand in between michael's face and the menu. ]

[ uses one of his own hands to push anthony's away, going back to the menu. ]

Have you decided yet?

Today's special, probably.

[ nods, giving a look over towards their waitress. two of today's special is all he says to her, handing over his menu before turning his attention back to his water. ]

[ checks the blackboard quickly for the special. ]

Uh. Would it be okay for your stomach to eat that?

[ slowly looks up at him again. silence. ]

... it was Rachel, wasn't it.

[ shifts his eyes. ]

Nah. It was the leprechauns.

Funny. [ crosses his arms over his chest. ] I will be fine, thank you.

[ --probably. ]

[ makes little sputtering alarm noises. ]

Mayday, mayday, lie alert.

[ breathes out once through his nose heavily. ]

I wish to try a bite, at the very least. If it is not to my tastes, I will gladly hand it over to you.

I can't eat that much.

Then take it home to your father.

[ snaps his fingers. ]

Great idea. This can be his lunch tomorrow. [ pauses. ] Try to eat anyway, and I'll just order another take-out.

[ takes another glance at that specials menu. pauses. turns back again. ]

It's quite alright. I believe I will survive without it.

I'm going to say 'I told you so' today and it's going to be great.

[ ignores and looks at the menu again. ]

I am not too hungry, so I suppose a salad would be fine.

You eat so healthy that even I want to eat like my dad.

Not entirely by choice.
