[ of course, as it turns out, the one thing that she's forgotten to mention to lyssa was the fact that she didn't really have a convenient method of transportation. all she'd asked for the location & time, thinking that would have been enough. of course it hadn't been.
... oh well.
hooking her small messenger bag-slash-purse on her shoulder, she bids her dad goodbye after reassuring him that she'll be back by ten (yes, yes, don't worry, just the mall--). & promptly feels glad that she left two hours before the time she's supposed to meet lyssa 'cause she just missed the bus & the next one won't be arriving for another half-hour. she settles down, pews & waits. long story short (after she subtracts the bus ride & all the weird things her hair is doing in the humidity), she manages to get to the mall in once piece: none of her organs are missing, her dress isn't ripped up, & no one had shoved her head down a toilet. day's pretty good so far (where's wood to knock on when she needed some?). 'cept the fact that she's probably a few minutes late, but--
... oh well.
she'll apologize to lyssa as soon as she can find him. ]

and looking so lost and lonely amongst the other neat-o toys...blinks when amanda comes on over, peering down at her selection in what seems to be deep thought.thinks. thinks some more. gives her the thumbs up after the dramatic silence. ]
I give you my stamp of approval! But don't you have more that you want?

This is appetizer.

Can I see the other ponies?

Share if any of them calls to you.

at allhe's willing to bet that he can pick out one or two that his friend might enjoy.already saw that one in her room. that one, too... it takes him a while, but he comes back with two more pony toys, lifting them up to show her. ]
Do you like these?
no subject
... you get the idea. ]
You have a good eye. [ obviously, since lyssa is an artist. but an eye for ponies too! ]
no subject
You good to go, then?
no subject
back to lyssa: ] Yeah. Then we can go for lunch. [ & maybe she can come back to this store by herself some other time to look for the fourth time... & possibly a fifth. just in case! ]

lifts one of the ponies up from his arms to play with it a little until it's his turn, placing the items on the counter so he can take out his wallet and card. quickly requests the ponies to be in a separate bag, taking them both when everything is paid for. steps aside to allow amanda to go forth and claim the other ponies. ]

kwehsmoves on over to place her winnings on the counter, taking out her wallet with the debit card backed by her first paycheck with small relish. she feels rather high, almost sparkly. just 'almost' though, since it's the Law that only lyssa, his family, ponies & gundams may sparkle in this universe.she's punching in her pin number when her phone chirps. she blinks down at it & takes it out of her purse. a text message? but the only messages she gets are from lyssa, so who's--
oh.
--oooohhh. her dad's having one of those days. oh well... looks toward lyssa. ]
Um. [ holds up her phone so that he can see the message. ] Family emergency. Can we postpone tacos?
no subject
Yes, yes, of course! Go on, you have to go to him! Quick, quick, before he makes a mess of himself!
no subject
Can I. [ um, ] Get a drive? [ please? ] Please?
no subject
Huh? Oh, yeah! Sorry, I didn't think to-- [ shakes his head, moving past her to wave her on out of the shop. ] Yeah, come on.

Ice cream later? If you're free? [ & if lyssa's dad & mom are okay with it? ]
no subject
Mom and dad'll be out for the evening, I think. I'll be free whenever you're available.
no subject
Okay. When the emergency has been contained.

I believe in you, friend to all ponies everywhere. Fight!

Zoom zoom. [ went the old, old commercial... once upon a time. she remembers watching it with her dad once. maybe she can find it on youtube & have him watch it again? maybe it'll cheer him up... ]

comes to a halt once they're in front of amanda's apartment building, looking her way once they're set firmly in place. ]
Do you want me to come up with you?
no subject
pokes her head back in. ]
Thanks. I'll see you. [ --later. hopefully. her dad's little fits don't last longer than half a day if she uses her cards right. ]
no subject
Oh! [ twists to grab the bag with the ponies in it, wiggling back into place before handing it over to her. ] Here, a gift.

Ponies? [ for her? & not for lyssa's dad or aunt? ]
