[ of course, as it turns out, the one thing that she's forgotten to mention to lyssa was the fact that she didn't really have a convenient method of transportation. all she'd asked for the location & time, thinking that would have been enough. of course it hadn't been.
... oh well.
hooking her small messenger bag-slash-purse on her shoulder, she bids her dad goodbye after reassuring him that she'll be back by ten (yes, yes, don't worry, just the mall--). & promptly feels glad that she left two hours before the time she's supposed to meet lyssa 'cause she just missed the bus & the next one won't be arriving for another half-hour. she settles down, pews & waits. long story short (after she subtracts the bus ride & all the weird things her hair is doing in the humidity), she manages to get to the mall in once piece: none of her organs are missing, her dress isn't ripped up, & no one had shoved her head down a toilet. day's pretty good so far (where's wood to knock on when she needed some?). 'cept the fact that she's probably a few minutes late, but--
... oh well.
she'll apologize to lyssa as soon as she can find him. ]

well. no. not really. ]
They'll like it. [ ever doting parent liked getting doted on by their children in return, right? not that it'd matter with lyssa's parents, since they were more doting than her own dad... ]

I'll be sure to tell them that you were the one who gave me the idea in the first place.

Leave out my dad getting tucked in? [ just to save him the embarrassment... he didn't need any more blows to his self-esteem. ]

If my dad asks, I'll say that you were tucking in your ponies.

Okay. [ good idea, lyssa! & that's not a lie, so he didn't have to worry about lying to his dad either. ]

wiggling back into the seat, she stretches, yawning a little. & then stops mid-way, freezing with muted horror. ]
. . . I'm getting old. [ old like her dad, needing to get to bed at ten... nooooooooooooo... ]

poofhair a little, shutting the door so he can circle the car and hop on inside. after the car starts: ] Maybe someday I can tuck you into bed.no subject

Would your dad be okay with that?

If I tell him a week in advance.

I think that would be fun, but only if he's comfortable with it.

He'll get used to it. [ using the time that lyssa's away. that's more than enough time, right? ]

I could give you the site. [ they make those pajamas in all sizes! & the prices are reasonable too. ]

O-Okay. Thank you.

You're welcome.

Maybe I can see if London has any pony exclusives there. You know of any before I go looking high and low?

I'll look it up. [ she can already imagine three or four places that lyssa could check, of course, but just to be on the safe side, she'll go research as soon as she gets dropped off at home. ]

Thanks again for the ice cream. Be sure to tell your dad that I said hello.
no subject
I will. He says 'hello' too. [ though it'd been said more indirectly than lyssa's way, with long questions like 'how is that friend-- best friend? b-boyfriend?!-- doing? good?' rather than a simple 'hi, how are you doing' like normal people tended to say. ]
