[ the time has come for the VALENTINE'S DAY event! is currently skipping every which-way in his white and red outfit, wearing pants just like rob requested. ... well, they're shorts, but it was better than a skirt, right?

nonetheless he moves about quickly, greeting and seating people as they come along. everything is practically covered in red, pink, and white hearts, streamers, balloons and flowers all tastefully designed and hung up in a very orderly (but not overpowering) manner. the small, circular tables are set up everywhere, leaving enough space for people to have their privacy. said tables are covered in lacy white tablecloths, a single white, pink, or red rose residing in the middle inside a simple white vase. oh, and the chairs sort of look like this. cute, aren't they?

in short, valentine's day must have thrown up inside the mansion, but at least it didn't look too ridiculous or cluttered. ]

[ realizes that the question is belated, but he would endure having to explain if it came to that. ]

Did something-- [ pauses, trying to word this. ] Are you alright?

[ stops a few paces ahead of rob, momentarily surprised. turns and smiles down at him affectionately. ]

I am now. [ pauses a beat as well, raising a hand to brush his fingers down the side of rob's face, as if it were the most natural thing to do in the world. ] Thank you for asking.

[ thinks it's the right moment to finally step forward, arms wrapping around the other in a firm but gentle hold. doesn't say anything, just... stands there like that, relaxing fully. ]

[ struggles a bit to keep the flowers out of the hold, but returns the hug with his free arm. he shifts so that he could lean his cheek against riku's shoulder.

breathes in quietly, enjoying the moment even if he's still a little tense with curiosity. ]

[ it last longer than riku planned, but now knowing that his job is done, he pulls back slowly, even if he didn't really want to let go in the first place.

debates on telling rob what that was for, though remembers what anna said & keeps quiet. simply reaches out to hold his free hand and shifts a bit, speaking softly. ]

Let's go.

[ accepts his hand without a word, releasing a would-be sigh through his nose, feeling strangely -- disappointed. or maybe he was simply tired & cold, he couldn't quite tell. ]

You didn't eat much. Should we order something?

[ this is him finally grinning, taking those few steps forward to begin their walk anew. ]

Don't worry, I think I've got that covered.

[ & an eyebrow goes up. ]

Mm?

[ is pleased with that eyebrow raise. ]

You'll see.

[ & that's his cue to open the door after they approach it, leading rob though the doorway with a hand on the small of his back. though he stays there for a moment while rob walks in, collecting his thoughts.

decides that it doesn't matter, at least not right now. he'll think about it later. for now he inhales, exhales, then follows the other, closing the door behind himself as the anticipation builds in his chest. ]

[ --this was not what he had expected to see when he walked through the doors. his mind felt numb (pleasantly numb) at the scene before him -- probably what others would call a. . . "romantic dinner setting". eyes go briefly upwards at riku, before going back down onto the scene. ]

[ & then he sighs. leaves the room for his own, carrying the flowers with him. the door closes & locks behind him with a soft click. ]

...

[ just. stands there. ]

[ decides to hover near the table after standing there for a bit longer. leans on one of the chairs, his other hand going on his hip. looks down at the surface with all its decorations, then sighs. ]

Looks like it's just you and me, buddy.

[ it takes another moment, but out comes rob, once again dressed up -- for his standards, anyway. walks over to the table, fingertips brushing against the tablecloth lightly as he stares at riku. that doesn't last long though, as he looks away to the side. ]

There's a. . . dress code. For these things. [ & if you squint, he looks a little mortified that he's doing this (read: faint blushing). ] Isn't there?

[ finally stops processing this, even if he'd like to bask in the moment a bit longer. d'aw is what he wants to say, but he's riku, which means he knows he'll get some sort of glare or kick to the shin if he (seemingly) makes fun of rob. and this is why he sighs and stands up straight again, shifting a bit to face rob fully. ]

Of course there is. [ looks around, bending slightly to whisper, as if someone could overhear them at any second. ] But I don't think the waiter saw, so you won't get dragged off by security or anything.

Good. Did you order?

Oh, you didn't know? I own this restaurant. [ stands back from the table, pulling out a chair. motions with a hand for rob to sit. ] I'll be your chef for the evening.

[ sits, looking vaguely amused. ]

My chef, waiter, and company?

[ looks sort of proud, in a nose-in-the-air sort of way. ]

What can I say, I guess I'm just that great.

[ smirks, leaning down slightly from behind the chair to raise an eyebrow over at rob. ]

Good choice, choosing me over some other guy. You have good taste.

[ doesn't wait around to see/hear a response, disappearing into the kitchen. ]
