[ the days are rather chilly this time of year -- it's the reason why he was dressed in two layers with another cloak draped over one shoulder. walking briskly, paying the scenery no mind (he didn't have much of an interest in them) before finally spotting the little table for two and anna's back.

smiles softly while approaching, making as little noise as possible while slipping off the cloak at the same time so that he can place them them over anna's shoulders when he gets in range. leaves his hands on those shoulders as he leans in a tad to murmur. ]

It's amazing that you haven't caught something already.

[ turns to give his attention to annabelle again, lifting one of his hands to plant a kiss upon it. ]

[ steps back a few paces and bows shortly with his neck, turning and walking off to leave them alone. ]

[ sighs, but seems to relax a bit, shaking his head a little with a rueful smile. ]

[ sincerely seems interested in this; slips into the seat annabelle was in before, reaching out to take a bite out of the uneaten tiramisu. ]

[ raises an eyebrow, expression amused even as the smile is genuine. ]

[ eats more of the tiramisu for a while, almost as if he didn't hear his question. puts the fork down and looks at him, leaning back in his seat. ]

It's about Annabelle. [ pauses, looking at the sky in brief thought. ] By association, I suppose.

[ remains quiet, listening attentively even when he's half-expecting the words that he'd be hearing next. ]

[ hums a bit to himself underneath his breath, looking as if he's attempting to decide how to begin this. ]

... my birthday is coming up soon. Since I am the last of the family line, my father is persistent on finding me a suitable partner to sit with me at the throne. Because of political reasons, it's obvious that the only reasonable solution is to wed someone of your kingdom. Namely the one that shares your face, Princess Annabelle.

He's been seeing your mother for a while now in secret regarding this issue. This is why I have been visiting more often than not. [ raises an eyebrow, allowing himself to slip from his seriousness briefly. ] Disappointing for you, I'm sure.

I just wanted you to be aware, though I do hope you do not let it be known that I told you this. Nobody else knows at the moment, besides you and your-- [ pauses, as to not slip on his wording. ] --sibling. It wouldn't be a wise decision to bring it out in the open to anyone, no matter how much you might want to.
