[ as the limousine steadily makes its way towards the masquerade brianna primps and preens. she isn't too worried about her appearance, already knowing that her gown, hair, and overall appearance is perfect, simply doing said fidgeting in order to keep herself busy. ]

[ snaps the compact shut and puts it back into her clutch purse, setting it aside before sparing a glance over to her date for the night. the look on her face is that of anticipation, yet there's some sort of amusement playing across her features as well. ]

[ circles her eyes elsewhere, noticing someone in the corner of her eye. he's approaching with a look of brief excitement on his face. another tilt of her head, observing, thinking. ]

[ & he does come along, making a beeline over to rob and who he considers is an acquaintance of his. raises his eyebrows, distracted; looks at brianna first, lips twitching up into a smile. ]

[ chuckles, turning her attention to riku for the time being. ]

What a bold question. I am forbidden to tell you, am I not? This is a masquerade, after all.

[ turns to rob, a softer look slowly shining through. ]

[ & his own softens a bit, the tight lines of his shoulders loosening, relaxing. ]

No. Nothing important.

[ watches them carefully. keeps her calmer exterior, even if she's too pleased at the sight. she's momentarily distracted, however: green eyes catch the figure of anna in the corner of her eye, slowly turning her head subtly to get a good look at him. decides something, feeling the giddiness flutter in her stomach. finally looks back at the two in front of her. places upon her lips a friendly smile. ]

I was just about to take my leave anyway.

[ raises and extends a hand noiselessly towards rob in a polite gesture. the smile on her face doesn't waver. ]

[ her eyes light up at his words. it almost seems as if she's going to end it at that; at the last moment she grips rob's hand tightly, to the point of it being painful. still smiling she leans in, whispering closely (silky-smooth and caring, yet clipped and cold at the same time) in the shell of his ear so only the boy could hear her words: ]

[ finally lets go, straightening again. she's all smiles, inclining her head towards rob. ]

Thank you for a lovely time, Robert. It was very nice to meet you. I enjoyed your company greatly.

[ nods towards riku and gives him a wink, turning to walk away as gracefully as ever, barely paying any mind to the ones who stare at her figure in wonder, too focused on her last and final mission for the night. ]

[ hasn't even registered the pain, letting his hand drop to his side as naturally as the feeling of shell-shock subsides. manages a nod in response as the stranger leaves, eyes going downcast for a moment. closes eyes briefly, swallows & lifts his head again toward riku. face is characteristically blank, even when he reaches for a hand. ]

[ the tone of his voice starts out sincere, his hand automatically reaching for one of Rob's own, meeting him in the middle. ]
