[ circles around to face her boys when they get inside of the park, taking out her handy dandy map to look over it. doesn't take too long in deciding what to do first; hands go on her hips, giving them a look as if she's leading an army going to war, though the smile on her face adds something more pleasant onto the double-meaning. ]

So I was thinking that we should split up first and meet up for lunch later. It's pretty crowded today. Going in twos is the best option, since we don't want to lose any short people.

[ also looks over his shoulder at the mention of the word parade, his interest momentarily caught until he finally decides that they will go back to as he finds that it rather imperative to return to his original objective. soon, they stand about two arm's length away from the stand, the noise of the parade growing behind them. looks down at nathan questioningly. ]

Would you like one?

Like what?

[ stands on his tip-toes, still attempting to get a look. his nose betrays his eye's interest, however; looks at albert and then at the stand. the food looks funny and he's never seen one before, so that's his cue to once again look up at the one beside him in confusion. ]

Uh. What are they?

[ a pause. then looks up to read off the sign: ]

Churros.

[ looks up at the sign as well, trying to peer around the couple that are receiving their own churros at the moment. ]

Oh. Sure?

[ pulls him along again, feeling rather reluctant to let go.

asks for just one when it is their turn to order, plainly ignoring the double-take look that the woman gives him despite offering her a polite smile out of habit. passes the treat into nathan's free hand when he receives it; it is only then that he loosens his grip so that he can properly pay. ]

[ takes it with a curious look on his face, observing it as if it's a foreign object. shifts on his feet a bit, biting into it as if he's expecting the worst. is pleasantly surprised and looks the part, face brightening a tad as he continues to eat. ]

[ finds himself smiling again when he takes in the (positive) reaction to the churro as he pays for an additional bottle of water & pepsi. leads them away to the side to prevent jamming the line-up to the stand & offers the pepsi. ]

Slowly.

Rhmphrhm!

[ trying to speak and eat at the same time is obviously doing nothing to help, but he takes the pepsi anyway and stops when there's barely 1/3 left. shoves it in albert's face, as if he's trying to declare his thoughts without having to say them. ]

It's delicious! What've we been doing, living in a cave or something? How could I not have known about these things of pure brilliance?

[ manages to twist his face away just in time, catching & stopping the treat by grabbing a hold of nathan's hand attached to the other end. ]

Ah. No, thank you. [ gently nudges the hand away, but inclines his head in silent thanks anyway. ]

Seconds?

[ looks the rest of the piece up and down, shrugging before popping it into his mouth. doesn't even notice all the cinnamon-sugar littering the front of his shirt, too busy rolling up the leftover wrappings to toss them into a nearby trash bin. ]

Later, maybe. [ pauses. ] I want two next time.

As you wish.

[ reaches over to brush aside the sugar from his shirt with a few brush of his hands. pulls away when satisfied to open his bottle of water to take a sizable sip. ]

[ raises both his eyebrows at his shirt, not commenting as he's suddenly too busy with his own drink. takes a glance at the sounds in the background, taking another chance to observe it in silence. ]

[ lifts his head toward the ongoing parade as well. gives nathan a pointed stare then sets off into a slower pace toward the gathering crowd & the noise. ]

[ blinks in surprise, following after him without speaking. once again tilts his head to get a good look down the pathway where the parade is apparently starting at. ]

[ manages to get a portion of the crowd to part for him so that he gets front-row view of the parade. beckons nathan over, keeping the space next to him open & reasonably easy to slip into. looks back into the parade in the meanwhile; though not entirely impressed, amusement is present, along with a sense of nostalgia. ]

[ there's no way to be certain if he's impressed and/or amused, the look on his face showing that he's too concentrated to think about much else at the moment. but he looks as if he's entertained, at least, no whining and complaining coming from his end anytime soon. ]

[ he waits it out even when his interest is lost after the first few minutes, easily humouring his patience as he listens in on the conversations surrounding him. manages to chat up a particularly giddy teenager to his right, smiling & nodding at her opinions pertaining to the various rides of Disneyland. thanks her when the parade comes to an end, turning back to nathan, default smile back in place though he seems a little tired -- almost as if he just woke up. ]

Have you heard of Space Mountain?

[ was completely & 100% into it, his lips not moving once upward but it's clear that it had his attention. might've smacked albert in the chest a few times within loud "SHH!"s, but past that he doesn't recall much else except for the parade. he turns around soon enough and stares up at albert with a perplexed look on his face at the sudden topic change. ]

Spacey whoozey-whatty?

[ repeats it dutifully: ]

Space Mountain.

Uh. No? What is it, some kind of food?

No, I believe it is a ride.

[ looks at him skeptically. ]

... what kind of ride.

[ tilts his head. ]

I'd like to find out.

[ scratches his head, thinking about it. ]

... alright, guess we could do that.

[ takes out the map again, looking up once in a while to look for landmarks. finally seems satisfied after a minute of inspection, putting it away. glances back at nathan, then nods toward the forward path on his right. ]
