[ sitting on his scooter out in the parking lot of the building that he knows is alyssa's last class of the day, elbows braced against the handles as he waits. only checks the clock of his cellphone once when the stream of people appear, signaling the end of the hour. thinks about texting her, but manages to refrain, quietly waiting for a certain princess to appear. ]

[ it is only through a group of mildly familiar faces that she is told about what had happened between both of her former boyfriends, the words not completely registering as truth until remembering the talk she and anthony had not some time ago. does not even bother with the rest of her classes as she demands to be taken where he currently resides, having convinced one of the security guards to let her go see him.

panic is the only thing she feels as she rushes in when they escort her through the double-doors (does not even give her former boyfriend a passing glance even as he tries to get her attention from the other side of the room), stopping dead in her tracks when she sees him in his cell and then shouts: ]

[ jerks awake, startled. blinks & looks around blearily, subconsciously recognizing that voice. then -- ]

. . . Oh. Hi, honey.

[ expression wavers between anger, worry, sadness-- lands on the latter when she notices the bruises, not being able to help herself when she droops and sniffs. ]

You're hurt...

[ pries himself off the wall he's leaning against when he sees that expression. scoots on closer to the bars to reach out toward her. ]

They're just scratches. I've been hit by flowerpots a lot harder.

[ then reaches out to gently take his most injured-looking hand, the fingers of her free hand hovering over it. presses a small kiss against the least bloody part of his knuckles. ]

[ winces a tad & tugs that hand back. brings up his other hand, the cleaner one, to touch at a cheek with his fingertips as an attempt to reassure. ]

Battle scars. I'm proud of these.

[ looks up at him again when he touches her face. frowns slightly but places a hand above his regardless. ]

... you didn't-- [ a pause, to correct herself: ] You shouldn't have.

[ shrugs & turns that hand so that he can grip her fingers. ]

[ presses her cheek against the back of his hand and murmurs: ]

[ gives a quick glance over her head toward the hallway, at another cell in thought. ]

[ scoots a little closer to the bars toward her. turns the hand that's pressed against her cheek so that he can touch her face with his palm gently. but doesn't speak, knowing that he only has disagreements to say. ]

[ picks up on this instantly and thus she drops the topic, instead leaning in to press her forehead against the bars. ]

Do you know how long you'll be in here?

[ also leans forward so that their foreheads are touching between the gaps of metal. ]

Probably a couple more hours? A day, at most.

[ closes her eyes as her shoulders sag a bit in relief. ]
