[ pulls onto the street across from anthony's apartment complex to park his car, turning the vehicle off before leaning back into the seat in silence. a day when they're both free was rare to come by nowadays, thus the sudden decision to grab the boy when he was given the a-okay by anthony himself. only this time he was going to him instead of the other way around, a good way to practice on getting back into something more comfortable with the friend(s) he had not been able to spend time with as often as he would have liked. still, it was a good start, and that's really all that mattered to him.

drums his fingers against the steering wheel in thought, shaking his head before getting out of the car, pocketing his keys after he's locked up. doesn't take any time in doing the typical routine (that he had not been able to do in quite some time)-- walks in, waits for the elevator, steps inside to push the button for the correct floor number, then strolls on out when the ding signals his arrival. his feet carry him at a leisurely pace towards the apartment, arriving in no time at all; after he knocks he shoves his hands into his pockets, taking a look around the hallway as if this were his first time visiting. a moment's thought makes him grin to himself a little (the things that happened last time they were alone together, still going over that day with some fondness attached despite the bad moments), schooling the smile to instead train his eyes on the door to wait for his friend to appear. ]

[ perks up & nods. ]

Chicken souls are good for the tummy.

[ opens his mouth to say something... then closes it, thinking that's enough for today. noms the last of his chicken, chugs down the remainder of his drink, then gathers the trash onto their tray before standing. ]

Ready to hit the road, chocobo?

[ grabs the rest of his drink for a last sip, then nods again in confirmation. ]

Yeah. Whereto next?

[ hums, walking a few steps to the side to throw the trash away. ]

Wanna go back to your place? [ comes back, reaching out to haul the bird plush up. ] As long as you have ice cream, of course.

[ grabs the cat plush, pointedly not looking at it as he glances up at tony's face. ]

If you don't mind sundae?

[ looks pleased enough at this idea. ]

Don't mind at all!

[ smiles & nudges him toward the way to the parking lot. ]

Then onward.

[ takes that as a signal to begin their trek back, maneuvering past the slowly growing crowds as best as possible while carrying the giant plush around. somehow makes it without injuring anyone (or himself, for that matter), waddling on over to the car to prop the stuffed animal on top of it while he unlocks the car.

after a moment of consideration he opens the door to the backseats, gently placing the bird plush into one of the seats. grabs the seat belt to strap it in place, making sure it's secure. stands up straight to look at anthony. gives him a dorky thumbs up and a rather proud-looking smile. ]

[ had followed along leisurely, hidden behind the combined bulk of tony & the giant bird plush. when they arrive at the car & tony turns to him with that expression, he can't help but reach upward to give his friend a pat on the head. ]

Good boy.

Arf arf!

[ wags his butt for show. ]

[ pauses, then brings up his other hand to ruffle at tony's hair some more with both hands. ]

Who's a good boy. Aw, who's a good boy.

[ starts panting, leaning forward to bump his head against his friend's. ]

Me, me!

[ quirks a smile, softening the ruffling so that he's running his hands through the hair instead. ]

I'll give you a treat when we get home.

[ keeps in that position, looking at him quite contently. ]

What kind of treat?

[ continues to pet as he thinks. ]

Your choice. Anything in the kitchen's fair game.

[ rolls his eyes upward, thinking. ]

Guess that's okay. [ moves back slowly, walking to his side of the car. ] But we gotta get there first before I decide on anything.

[ reopens the door to the backseat to stick the cat plush in with the bird before settling into the passenger seat. buckles himself in. ]

Please stick to the speed limit.

[ turns on the car, mirroring anthony's motion before doing the necessary steps to ensure their safety. glances in the corner of his eye at his companion's words, deciding to not speed this time despite his amusement getting the best of him last time. ]

[ rummages around his bag of plushes, picking out his alyssa & tony plushes. starts making them dance on his lap, looking down at the toys fondly. then pauses to stare at the tony-plush. after another moment, he draws up a knee so that the plush can be elevated when put on top of it. makes it shake as he adds in his own sound effects: ]

Mwa ha ha ha. All your cherries are mine. Will be mine.

[ had been too busy focusing on the road that he doesn't notice anthony toying with the plushes, though when those words pop up he can't help but glance at him from the corner of an eye. quirks a smile, attention going back to the road as he speaks. ]

That doll has good taste.

[ clears his throat & enters a monotone narrator voice: ] And in this time of cherry danger enters a heroine of justice.

[ lifts up the alyssa plush to sit on his head briefly. ] Lacus, Magic Girl Extraordinaire. Feel her flying kick, evil doer. [ on cue, he lifts the alyssa-plush to have it smash feet first into tony-plush with the latter 'flying' through the air in slow motion with the added sound effect of fweeesh. ]

Looks like Cherry Popper's blasting off again.

[ keeps on driving in silence, pointedly not looking at those shenanigans going on to his right. nonetheless he can't help but speak up after a beat or two: ]

Aren't I supposed to have some kind of sidekick of some sort? Partner in crime? Evil animal friend?

[ tucks both plushes against his chest, looping an arm around them. ]
