[ double-checks that everything in the house is straightened and in its proper place, despite having cleaned everything earlier that morning. a few peeks up the stairs towards her brother's room is the only other movement she makes besides nudging things here and there, taking a seat on the edge of a chair when she realizes that it probably won't be very long now. is quite aware (was made aware) that her brother had tricked anthony into thinking they were going to meet at twelve instead of twelve-thirty, but still can't help but glance outside the front window every few minutes to make sure that she would be there when he arrived. ]

[ & with that he places his order, hands over his card, signs the slip of paper, then wanders off to the side to wait. ]

[ orders his own (& jeremy's), hands over a bunch of bills, accepts change & shuffles on over next to michael again. ]

Reasoning?

For your unwillingness to recognize your blatant masochism.

[ eyes go upward as he thinks about this. pretends to think about this. back to michael, shaking his head. ]

Positions in soccer doesn't always translate into real life.

I am not speaking of your position on the field. The way you live life is masochistic. You deliberately do things that you understand will hurt you in some way, express your distaste or indifference of the outcome, then do it again anyway. So you are either foolish or a masochist. [ pauses, thinking. ] Possibly both.

[ actually seems to absorb those words, frowning for a moment. then the expression smooths out, followed by a crinkling of his nose. ]

Option A sounds good. It's healthier. [ pause. ] And includes ninety percent of all humans.
