[ of course, as it turns out, the one thing that she's forgotten to mention to lyssa was the fact that she didn't really have a convenient method of transportation. all she'd asked for the location & time, thinking that would have been enough. of course it hadn't been.

... oh well.

hooking her small messenger bag-slash-purse on her shoulder, she bids her dad goodbye after reassuring him that she'll be back by ten (yes, yes, don't worry, just the mall--). & promptly feels glad that she left two hours before the time she's supposed to meet lyssa 'cause she just missed the bus & the next one won't be arriving for another half-hour. she settles down, pews & waits. long story short (after she subtracts the bus ride & all the weird things her hair is doing in the humidity), she manages to get to the mall in once piece: none of her organs are missing, her dress isn't ripped up, & no one had shoved her head down a toilet. day's pretty good so far (where's wood to knock on when she needed some?). 'cept the fact that she's probably a few minutes late, but--

... oh well.

she'll apologize to lyssa as soon as she can find him. ]

[ in the forty minutes that he's received the text, nick's been doing two things: (trying to) sketch & sleep. he's pretty sure that the latter is a side-effect to the codeine that he still has to take (especially when sketching), but he wouldn't put it past himself for the reason behind the dazing to be laziness either. in summary of that short story made long: he's taking a while to get to the door, but he's sure lyssa will live. the easy-going nature of the kid is a quarter of the reason why he bothers with this relationship(? --well, whatever this is), after all.

he's in the middle of a yawn when he finishes unlocking the door, slumping against the doorway as he tries to put his braincells together to greet lyssa properly when suddenly, all of his neural functions come online.

raising an eyebrow, ] Is that for a suit or a project?

[ smiles widely at him, wiggling his way past and into the apartment. ]

A project. [ deposits the bags onto the couch, sighing in relief. ] Finals come after prom, you know! And you're the perfect height for this, so I thought you could help me, since I help you all the time.

[ closes the door & follows after him, crossing his arms loosely in front of his chest. the eyebrow goes up again. ]

Collecting your dues, huh? And here I was, thinking I was a charity case.

If that's what turns you on, then we'll just keep it at that. [ makes a gesture at him with a hand. ] Now strip!

[ seems to think about it. that doesn't last very long, however, as he makes up his mind to just stroll right on over into lyssa's personal space to plant both hands on the boy's hips. ]

In a bit. Business before pleasure, wasn't it?

[ tilts his head a bit in a questioning (and considering) manner, even if his hands automatically rest on nick's shoulders. ]

I meant "strip and put these other clothes on for me", but if you're so needy right now, well...

[ rolls his eyes & in a deadpan: ]

Oh, yes, so needy for your young hot body, etcetra. [ leans down to bump their foreheads together while tugging lyssa closer. nips at his lower lip. ] Next time, be more specific before getting my hopes up, hm?

[ slides his arms around his neck, toying with his hair a little. raises an eyebrow at those words before he huffs out in amusement. ]

Well someone is really feisty today. [ tilts his head, lightly blowing at nick's ear. ] What's the matter, did you swallow all your Viagra in one go?

[ turns his head to mouth along the jaw before giving the skin above the pulse-point a firm bite. ]

Why don't you give yourself more credit? You know how I feel about you being cheeky. [ which could be taken either way, but the answer might be clear if one didn't look too deeply into how he then turns them around to shove lyssa off.

circles around the coffee table in front of the couch, eyes on the garment bags. ] Are either of these made of cotton?

[ doesn't bat an eyelash at this, just smiling widely at nick's back. wanders on over as well before he squats down on the floor next to the garment bags, opening one of them to pull out a ash grey blouse. ]

Negative. The blouse is made from rayon, a type of manufactured fiber that's soft and has few problems with static. [ stands to hold it up against nick's chest, head tilted to the side to look him (and it) over as he continues to yammer: ] I'm designing a classy but comfortable line of suits and evening gowns for men and women, but I didn't want to go and use imported silks since those tend to be rather expensive. Instead, I've decided to use rayon to make the clothing affordable, so it'll be easily accessible to people that don't have hundreds of dollars to blow away on something they might only wear once or twice.

[ eyes go toward the ceiling in a long-suffering manner, but he's definitely listening, absorbing the explanation well enough. ]

Sounds nice in theory. [ it takes him a while, but he manages to curl his fingers all the way around lyssa's wrist to pull-push it away while hooking away the blouse with his other one. ] Are you looking to make a brand?

[ shrugs, pulling away to rummage around in the other garment bag. ]

Not in particular. Just something I'm doing on the side while I finish up my final project for senior year.

[ while he settles on the couch to undo the buttons of the blouse slowly (annoying). but as soon as that's done, he's good for stripping & shrugging the thing on. he's on his feet after that, doing up three buttons before testing the stretch around the shoulders and arms. ]

If you plan on pricing these decently, consider designing for business-casual at most. [ there seems to be a 'rather than--' tacked on there, but he figures lyssa fill in the blanks. ]

[ & he does fill in those blanks, if only briefly, as he's too busy pulling out what looks like a gown. it's of the same color of the blouse, only it has more details and some extra fabric. sets it aside and looks it over... then starts tugging off his shirt, speaking as he goes along. ]

Maybe. For now I'll only make a handful of them if I get the okay from the art department at my school. We usually have one last art show after finals, so I'll present some of the designs there and see how it goes.

[ & the buttons are being done one by one. once he's done with that, he glances at the sleeves & seems to decide to fold them up to the elbow, just to see how it looks. (not bad.) ]

On average, how many of your designs were turned down?

One. They didn't take kindly to this dress I once made in junior year. It was apparently too 'risque'. [ picks up the dress and eases it on once he's taken off his pants. fiddles with the fabric a little. ] It's not like most of the boys there hadn't seen a woman wearing lingerie before, so why would a dress inspired by it be a problem? I didn't get it, but I backed off and tried something a little more conservative.

[ settles back down on the couch, watching in faint amusement as lyssa casually crossdresses. shakes his head at it & leans back, letting the kid do his thing without comment, finding the topic more interesting for now. ]

Business-casual shouldn't have those pitfalls. [ if you did it right. ] I'd go into this project as a done deal with those statistics.

[ lets out a hum and a nod, though his eyes are still fixated on his current predicament. ]

I agree, but I'm much more interested in my final project right now. I've been working on it for four years, you know! [ ties the material around his waist, tugging at it. ] Unfortunately, my muse had a crisis to attend to. So here I am, using you for something else instead.

[ & then he's finished, turning fully to face nick, hands on his hips. after looking him up and down: ]

Looks good on you. Matches your eyes. How's the fit?

[ snorts & extends a hand toward lyssa. ]

Better than that dress is on you.

[ twirls once to remove the amount of space between them, placing his hand into nick's palm. ]

I'll alter it later.

[ flexes his fingers a little, then grasps the hand firmly to tug lyssa toward him. ]

So this isn't some fetish of yours?

[ wobbles a bit before ~~losing balance~~ planting himself into nick's lap. ]

Unfortunately not. I'm just a normal, healthy young male with an eye for fashion. [ pauses. raises an eyebrow. ] Unless you want it to be a fetish, that is.

[ huffs out a soft breath of disbelief while shifting his legs from where they're cushioning lyssa. there, that was more comfortable (for him, anyway). ]

Can't say it's my thing. But I'm sure there're others out there that'll appreciate your inclinations toward dresses.

[ cranes his neck a bit to nuzzle the side of nick's face with his nose, nipping at an earlobe. ]

Yeah, like women.
