[ of course, as it turns out, the one thing that she's forgotten to mention to lyssa was the fact that she didn't really have a convenient method of transportation. all she'd asked for the location & time, thinking that would have been enough. of course it hadn't been.
... oh well.
hooking her small messenger bag-slash-purse on her shoulder, she bids her dad goodbye after reassuring him that she'll be back by ten (yes, yes, don't worry, just the mall--). & promptly feels glad that she left two hours before the time she's supposed to meet lyssa 'cause she just missed the bus & the next one won't be arriving for another half-hour. she settles down, pews & waits. long story short (after she subtracts the bus ride & all the weird things her hair is doing in the humidity), she manages to get to the mall in once piece: none of her organs are missing, her dress isn't ripped up, & no one had shoved her head down a toilet. day's pretty good so far (where's wood to knock on when she needed some?). 'cept the fact that she's probably a few minutes late, but--
... oh well.
she'll apologize to lyssa as soon as she can find him. ]

We could make up for it with care packages.

It's okay, I don't need London. I'm happiest when I'm with you or my family.
no subject
Okay. [ if lyssa's sure, then she's not going to question it any more than that. she'll pray that she also gets into her mom's school too, if only for this. ]

after he gets amanda into the car he's heading to his side, though before he gets there he takes out his phone to check it. frowns a bit (in confusion?) when he notices that he didn't get a returning text, though ends up just shrugging and pocketing the phone again. (he's probably working on a project or sleeping. i'll call tomorrow.)
hops in the car and situates himself before taking off, giving amanda another one of his smiles as they head on back to her place. ]

Do you think I can fix this? [ probably not as good as it once was, but still good enough to be worn? ]
no subject
It's salvageable. [ continues their journey when the light turns green. ] But it'll take some time. Want me to give it a go with you?

kwehssighs softly & gathers the strips close to her chest again. ]Yeah. Okay. [ with lyssa's help, it'll be okay. she can fix this... & if everything fails, she can always go & find a professional service with old dresses or something. she works now, so she can save up for it. ]

when they pull up to her apartment complex he doesn't unlock the doors just yet. instead he leans back in his seat, feeling distinctly guilty. after fiddling with his hands a little: ]
... sorry. For dragging you along. I thought it would be okay, but...

It's not your fault. [ the dress being ruined isn't okay, but-- it's still not lyssa's fault & if she keeps saying it, then she means it. she'll repair the dress one way or another. ]
no subject
Thank you for coming along with me.
no subject
You're welcome. [ she's a little sorry about how lyssa's prom turned out, but-- she knows that that's not her fault either. maybe they can make it up with a dance in college or something. like a victory-slash-introduction thing... ]

Do you want me to come up with you? We can do adult things, like cuddle and watch some pony films.
no subject
I don't mind, but. . . [ didn't lyssa have that after party with his family happening...? ]
no subject
My party isn't until we actually graduate, so it'll be in another week or so. I'm totally free, if you want some company.
no subject
Okay. [ short pause. ] I'll make us something to eat too. [ since they had to leave prom before they could... well, anything. ]
no subject
What did you have in mind?
no subject
I think we have chicken left over. [ so maybe she can make something with that. ]
no subject
Sounds pretty good to me!
no subject
Would that be enough? [ she could make sandwiches too. ]
no subject
like a happy puppy. ]It's fine. I gotta watch my figure, after all.
no subject
I don't think you gotta worry. [ good genes & all that. ]

You never know. I could be the exception once I hit twenty.
