[ the time has come for the VALENTINE'S DAY event! is currently skipping every which-way in his white and red outfit, wearing pants just like rob requested. ... well, they're shorts, but it was better than a skirt, right?

nonetheless he moves about quickly, greeting and seating people as they come along. everything is practically covered in red, pink, and white hearts, streamers, balloons and flowers all tastefully designed and hung up in a very orderly (but not overpowering) manner. the small, circular tables are set up everywhere, leaving enough space for people to have their privacy. said tables are covered in lacy white tablecloths, a single white, pink, or red rose residing in the middle inside a simple white vase. oh, and the chairs sort of look like this. cute, aren't they?

in short, valentine's day must have thrown up inside the mansion, but at least it didn't look too ridiculous or cluttered. ]

[ that makes him pause, to just stare after riku's back, before he starts his own slow decent. he keeps to the silence for now, because is everything alright felt too personal to ask in the middle of the stairs. ]

[ decides to make smalltalk while they continue, though only after the long silence. doesn't look at him, though, nor does he completely slow down. ]

Had a nice shower?

[ takes a few quick steps so that he's only two steps away from riku, hands going in his pockets. ]

Yes.

[ finally takes a glance over his shoulder, giving a small smile. ]

Good.

[ & that's all he says as they finally reach the bottom of the stairs. sort of just stops and stands there, looking as if he's thinking about something. ]

[ turns to look at rob, now. ]

Do you want to leave?

[ you're under scrutiny, riku. ]

Have you talked to Anna?

[ will take this in stride, as usual. ]

Sure I have. Didn't think I'd just shove the flowers into his face and walk off, did you?

I see.

Then there's no reason to stay.

[ shrugs a little. ]

Fine by me.

[ thinks of something, then suddenly makes way on over to their little room, just so he can pick up rob's roses. wonders for a moment if they should have stayed in it longer, but decides to forget it as he closes the door behind him. hands rob the flowers afterward. ]

Now we can go.

[ accepts the roses without thought. ]

[ . . . & then adjusts them so that they're resting more comfortably in the crook of his right arm. ]

Alright.

[ towards he doors he goes! ]

[ follows after, taking one last glance at the festive hoo-hah. shakes his head and walks out the doors with rob, beginning their slow stroll back towards rob's place. ]

[ the fresh air calms him a bit, tense shoulders dropping to let him finally relax. glances at his companion, then back up at the sky. more smalltalk time. ]

Y'know, despite the blinding decorations and goofy-looking chairs, it was a pretty nice party. Did Anna do it all by himself?

[ adjusts the roses again & nods once. ]

. . . did he seem tired?

[ thinks about it for a split second, then shakes his head. ]

Naw. He's like a bundle of energy, after all.

[ stops. & stares for a moment. then continues onwards again with another nod. ]

Not always.

[ raises an eyebrow, a little curious this time, but decides to not ask details. ]

Oh? Well, everyone gets tired every now and then, I guess.

[ doesn't answer for a while, content in putting some distance between them & the mansion before they get to the quieter parts of the street. it's then that he stops, turning to face riku. ]

[ realizes that the question is belated, but he would endure having to explain if it came to that. ]

Did something-- [ pauses, trying to word this. ] Are you alright?

[ stops a few paces ahead of rob, momentarily surprised. turns and smiles down at him affectionately. ]

I am now. [ pauses a beat as well, raising a hand to brush his fingers down the side of rob's face, as if it were the most natural thing to do in the world. ] Thank you for asking.

[ thinks it's the right moment to finally step forward, arms wrapping around the other in a firm but gentle hold. doesn't say anything, just... stands there like that, relaxing fully. ]

[ struggles a bit to keep the flowers out of the hold, but returns the hug with his free arm. he shifts so that he could lean his cheek against riku's shoulder.

breathes in quietly, enjoying the moment even if he's still a little tense with curiosity. ]
