[ circles around to face her boys when they get inside of the park, taking out her handy dandy map to look over it. doesn't take too long in deciding what to do first; hands go on her hips, giving them a look as if she's leading an army going to war, though the smile on her face adds something more pleasant onto the double-meaning. ]

So I was thinking that we should split up first and meet up for lunch later. It's pretty crowded today. Going in twos is the best option, since we don't want to lose any short people.

[ screams when he notices that it's the rabbit that's snarling at him, removing his hand away from the bunnies instantly while falling back onto his rear-end. ]

[ & this would be snickering. then moves into the vicinity of the horses -- which then seems to be enough to stop their irritated huffs -- with his posture poised with something of a challenge. ]

C'mon, midget! You can stand up to at least bunnies, can't you?

[ still stares at what he assumes is the 'mama' bunny, pointing a finger in their direction as he looks up at damon, clearly horrified. ]

B-BUNNIES AREN'T SUPPOSED TO GROWL! What the hell is wrong with it?!

[ seems a bit torn between indulging nathan's horror & the horses, stroking the muzzle of one when he yells back, over the heads of startled parents & children. ]

Oh, they growl, alright. S'pecially toward things wimpier than they are.

[ looks highly offended, twisting away from the rabbits and turning all of his attention on damon. ]

I'M NOT WIMPY! They're defected or... or something-!

[ casts the bunnies with a considering look briefly, then shakes his head. ]

Nope! Perfectly healthy. Just prove that you ain't wimpy, and they'll stop the noise.

[ frowns deeply over at damon, shifting his gaze over to the bunnies with a considering look of his own. ]

How... do I do that.

. . . [ gives the horse's muzzle another pat & starts a slow stroll closer to nathan & the bunnies. ]

Calm down a bit, for starters. Animals react to your emotions, remember?

[ looks up at him curiously anyway, even if he's sort of confused as well. ]

Well, they do.

[ stops his advancement, raising an eyebrow. is close enough to calm the rabbits down but not silence their rumbling. ] Gonna give it a try or you gonna chicken out?

[ frowns and reaches out again, though pulls back an inch or two when he gets close enough. closes his eyes as if he's expecting the worst and finally touches one of them. when he doesn't feel any biting he opens an eye to look at them, skeptical of the sudden patience they're giving him. ]

[ crosses his arms, but doesn't otherwise move, expression stern in its (feigned) concentration of observing nathan's attempts. ]

[ when he feels like he's had enough nathan removes his hand with a little jerking movement, standing up to dust himself off. ]

T-that wasn't so hard!

[ slowly inches his way back to the horses, snickering quietly. ]

You thought otherwise? Bunnies, the bane of N's existence.

[ shoving his hands into his pockets & mutters, more to himself than to damon. ]

[ the distance makes him miss the words, but infers via expression anyway; doesn't say anything though, simply motioning nathan closer to the horses when he's within touching distance of the animals again. ]

[ frowns over at the animal in question, not really making much of an effort to inch closer, though he does so without any complaint. makes a face at the horse when he thinks it's mocking him. ]

[ tries not to feel too amused when the horse lets out a huff through its nostrils, keeping one hand on the muzzle while the other reaches for nathan's, gently taking the wrist to guide it upward towards the animal. ]

See? Easy.

[ when his hand touches the animal he pauses before turning to look at damon. looks back at the horse. back at damon. ]

[ lets out a sigh, shaking his head. allows the hand to slip a little bit into damon's instead of being at the wrist, almost as if he's being unconsciously reassured that he's still there. ]

Only 'cause you're here. It'd have me for dinner if not.

[ raises an eyebrow, momentarily surprised at the initiated contact, but doesn't pull away, merely a light (& short) squeeze. drops his other hand away from the horse, watching it trot away some & start to graze. ]

Nah. Horses are real picky. If they decided they were gonna step on you? Wouldn't matter if I was here or not.

[ thinks about that privately to himself and shrugs in reply. removes himself completely and looks at the ground, as if he's thinking about something. lifts his gaze and raises an eyebrow, a look of confusion on his face. ]

Why do you like animals anyway? 'Cause they can't talk or anything. Isn't it frustrating?
