[ sneezes & sighs, shivering as he emits a small groan as the pounding of his head intensifies for the moment. slouches a bit so that he can press his face into brianna's shoulder, his body tucked against hers as close as possible in a (futile) attempt at borrowing some of her heat.

still, he has enough energy to look up when a nurse calls a name (thankfully not his or hers). closes his eyes again afterward, sighing quietly in relief. feels terrible, but the dread & fear of the woman behind the doctor's door is enough to make him cough out a few words. ]

I want to go home...

[ does not say anything for a while herself, busy with more thoughts that are soon taking over. cannot help herself when she indulges in her curiosity: ]

Albert?

W-what is it?

[ scrunches up the bunch of material in her hands, fiddling idly with it. smooths it out again, closing her eyes. ]

... no, nevermind. I apologize.

[ looks at her curiously, nibbling on his lower lip for a moment. ]

Um... it's okay to ask. If you want to.

[ stays silent to think things through. in the end she only slides one of her hands over to his, not taking it but just simply touching it with the side of her own. ]

... I know.

[ nods & doesn't move his hand, smiling a bit to show that he enjoys the light touch. ]

Okay.

[ lets that be that as she tips her head to the side to press it up against the window of the car, lazily watching the scenery pass them by. ]

[ does the same on his side of the seat, tucking himself against the door of the car as he rests his forehead against the cool glass of the window. ]

[ when they come to a stop in front of the mansion she straightens quickly, jumping out of the car first to go open albert's door again. reaches her hand out, an invitation. ]

[ looks up & seems to shake off the role reversal faster this time, reaching for her hand without missing a beat. shuffles himself out of the car & holds her hand firmly, not wanting to let go. ]

[ seems satisfied enough as she leads them both towards the entrance, glancing at him in the corner of her eye every now and then. ]

[ is pulled along, stumbling after her. ]

Can we have hot chocolate?

[ turns to him a little quicker than usual, as if she's on high alert. ]

Of course. I will make some after we get you back into bed.

[ tugs back in slight alarm. ]

Bed...? But I'm not sleepy.

[ blinks slowly. ]

You do not have to sleep while in bed.

What about the couch? I can bring lots of blankets.

... if that is what you wish.

I'll bring some for you, too.

[ shakes her head. ]

No, I will bring them to you. Please, go rest.

I'm feeling better. I can get them.

... [ nods, slowly letting go of his hand. ] I will make you hot chocolate, then.

[ nods & rushes off into the house to gather the blankets from his bed, only swaying once as he clamors up the stairs. after having gathered an armful, he slowly makes his way into the room with the comfortable couch & fireplace, setting the blankets down on the floor & collapses on them, breathing in their freshly cleaned scent with relish. ]

[ does her own job at her usual pace, making sure everything is perfect in the process. as she waits for it to heat up, however, she moves from the kitchen to her own room, thankfully after albert is finished with his gathering of the blankets. crawls on her bed and picks up the black plush cat sitting there, nodding once in approval before going back to the kitchen to nab the items there.

eventually she makes her way into their destined meeting area, gently easing on her knees to get to albert's level. holds out one of the mugs to him. ]

[ had been dazing a little before the scent of hot chocolate brings him back to full consciousness. face is a bit flushed from both his cold & his momentary fun when he lifts his head from the sheets; reaches forward with both hands to accept his mug. ]

Ah... you're here.

[ nods, handing him his drink. ]
