[ is standing near the entrance of the starbucks where he had first met nathan, looking strangely compliant & calm as he listens & reacts (as quietly & discreetly as he's capable) to the bustling crowd of the afternoon. it's not so busy as to give him a headache, but busy enough to keep him entertained as he waits for his teammate/friend. ]

I am happy! [ scurries over a little closer, trying to communicate as clearly as possible. ] Happy here, with Nathan and with team!

[ seems to regain composure quickly, though; shakes his head and lets out an amused huff of air. lifts a hand to pat caleb's head, almost a little affectionately without realizing it. his tone is a little softer as well. ]

takes his hand off of caleb's head as well, putting them to his cheeks a la icon instead. what is wrong with me? is his thought process, but-- ]

[ attention doesn't stay focused on his environment for long, though, as he's quickly distracted by something else. peers curiously at nathan upon realizing nathan('s heartbeat) is the source, lifting a hand to press the back of it against a slightly flushed cheek. ]

. . . ? Warm? Nathan is okay?

[ sputters upon contact, quickly jumping back a foot or two. puts his own hand on the cheek caleb had touched, though he just gets more flushed regardless, voice rising slightly in defense (but not in anger). ]
