[ sitting on his scooter out in the parking lot of the building that he knows is alyssa's last class of the day, elbows braced against the handles as he waits. only checks the clock of his cellphone once when the stream of people appear, signaling the end of the hour. thinks about texting her, but manages to refrain, quietly waiting for a certain princess to appear. ]

[ noms on one of the cookies, offering the tupperware to him. ]

[ but dutifully begins to eat another while hugging the tupperware to her stomach. ]

[ slides off the couch to visit the kitchen for a moment, returning with a cup of water. ]

[ takes it, giving him a smile. ]

Aw, how thoughtful.

[ settles back down into his seat. ]

Standard proactive measures.

[ takes a small sip of it, reaching over to grab a coaster. sets it down, turning slightly towards him. ]

How are you doing, Anthony?

[ blinks, taken a little off guard. ]

I'm okay. What about you?

[ sets the cookies down, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear. ]

I'm alright. Just a little bit tired. I've had a lot of exams to study for lately.

[ opens arms a little, offering a hug. ]

Exam period is a conspiracy.

[ rests against his chest instead and rubs her face into his shirt. ]

Mm. Probably.

[ wraps his arms around her loosely, rubbing at her back comfortingly. lets the silence continue for a bit longer before he finally asks: ]

. . . How's everything else?

[ snuggles into him more, too comfortable to register what he means exactly. ]

[ rests his head against hers. ]

The rest of society.

[ tries to peek up at him. gives a genuinely confused look. ]

I do not understand.

[ shifts a bit uncomfortably, hand stilling as he tries to word it carefully. ]

There's rumours that you're single again.

[ stills at his words. puts her head back down, giving a short nod in confirmation. ]

[ continues the back rubs gently. ]

Do you want to talk?

[ thinks about it. gives a tiny shrug. ]

There's not much to say, really...

[ hands pause in their motions as he tries to peer at her expression. ]

Just a normal break-up?

[ shifts so that she can look up at him. smiles a bit, wiggling in her position so that she can reach up and gently take off his fake mustache. decides on some honesty while doing so: ]

Not exactly.

[ leans forward to touch his forehead against hers, his face expressive with worry. ]
