[ yawns and stretches as he sits on the edge of the bed, his back to the female who is slowly starting to get dressed. flops backwards to peer up at her, giving some snide remark before she pops him on the nose with a hand in retribution. forgoes the shirt he was reaching for, instead rolling off the mattress to playfully plead with her to stay for a few more hours, though the joke is already lost once she steps into the bathroom to fix her hair.

grins a bit at that but dutifully moves out of her way, making a beeline back to his bedroom. lazily scratches at his already-frizzy hair as he leans against the doorway, not paying much attention to anything in particular. eventually his expression grows dimmer, eyes going up to the ceiling before they narrow slightly. finds himself unable to throw away the feeling of uneasiness that nestles into the pit of his stomach, almost as if something terrible had happened without him knowing. ]

[ gives him another smile before he wordlessly caps & sets the water bottle down next to the vegetable-ice pack. takes the couple of steps necessary to close the distance between them, thumping his forehead against tony's shoulder. ]

[ wasn't ready for the movement thus he does not respond right away, looking down at the top of his head in silence. slowly, almost as to not frighten anthony, he brings his arms up and around him; one hand cupping the back of his head, the other pressing him firmly against him. ]

... sorry. I won't ask anything else. Just... you'll stay here for the night, right? Stay here for as long as you need.

[ presses his nose into tony's shoulder as he lifts his arms to hug him back tightly, fingers shaking & twitching against tony's skin. gives a minute nod. ]

Yeah. I. . . yeah. Thank you. [ grip tightens a little more, despite his next words. ] I'll leave tomorrow morning.

[ chest tightens a bit more when he feels the desperate cling grow stronger. just holds him, stroking his hair once. ]

If you wake up tomorrow and don't want to... please don't just leave because you think you'll get in my way. Alright? You're always welcome here. I don't care what time of day it is, or if I'm doing something you think is important.

[ pulls back a bit, nudging anthony's chin lightly with a hand to meet his gaze. gives him a small smile, though his expression is soft and kind. ]

You're more important, yeah?

[ meets that gaze slightly open-mouthed, though no words escape him. squeezes his eyes shut & lowers his head again, unable to hold their gaze for too long. swallows, then rests his head against tony's shoulder again. ]

. . . Spoiling me.

[ keeps that smile on his face, tilting his head a bit to rest his cheek on the crown of anthony's head. rubs his back gently in a comforting, almost understanding manner. ]

I'll spoil you all you want.

[ stays in that position a while longer before he turns face so that his lips brush against tony's skin lightly when he speaks. ]

Don't say that.

[ shifts and tilts his head slightly to try and get a look at his face, amused by the small gesture. ]

Why not?

[ thinks briefly to a certain princess, making his voice drop a little while he pointedly avoids direct eye contact. ]

I'll get used to it. And I shouldn't.

You don't have to do anything you don't want to do, Anthony. [ pushes his hair back with a hand, brushing his lips against his forehead. holds him a bit tighter, as if needing the contact, too. ] I'll be here either way.

[ seems to respond to that contact instinctively, moving to hug him back more firmly. eyes go a little glazed at the kiss on the forehead & when he manages to shake himself out of it, he can't help the (slightly high) laughter that spills out, the sound awkward in its disuse. ]

I know. That's why I'm here.

[ looks worried when he laughs but pushes it down in favor of asking a more important question, hoping his friend will answer it directly this time: ]

And you'll stay here? Until you feel ready enough to go?

[ nods slowly. ]

Yeah.

[ doesn't voice the silent tack-on his mind automatically produces, busily dislodging himself from tony's hold to give him a quick look. quells the blush to quirk a small, amused smile instead. ]

Shirtless isn't really in-style anymore.

[ puts his hands on his hips, raising an eyebrow. ]

Guess I should put on a shirt, then.

[ steps back to reach for the water bottle again with his head turned elsewhere. ]

Mm. Want a sandwich?

[ reaches over to gently ruffle his hair, keeping it there as he says: ]

If you're offering, sure.

[ & then removes the hand to wander off to his bedroom. ]

[ pats at the bruise on his face experimentally. after deciding that the pain is bearable, he starts moving, poking into every nook & cranny to keep himself busy as he puts together something to eat for the both of them. ]

[ uses a hand to shut his door half-way when he enters, examining the state of his room. face falls into something more melancholy as he begins to think, still unsure if what he said and did was the correct thing(s) to do. slowly begins to pick up discarded clothing, ones that belong to him and a few others that do not.

frowns down at the bed, deciding to strip it and toss the sheets into the hamper. quickly fishes around for his spare, swiftly putting everything in place then straightens the bed once more. ]

[ emerges from his room while tugging a t-shirt over his head, expression going back to his usual. stands in the entrance of the kitchen but does not speak, instead his arms crossing over his chest as he leans on the doorway in silence, giving anthony's back a fond but far-off look. ]

[ doesn't notice tony standing there until he's completely done. with the sandwiches done at a record time, he'd taken it upon himself to clean up the area as well, rendering it into something only a step away from sparkling. leans away to give his work a pleased look-over & turns-- ]

[ JUMPS BACK. ]

Hrk--!

[ raises his eyebrows but does not look fazed in the least. peers into the kitchen, letting out an low whistle. ]

Wow. Forget a cleaning service, I should just have you move in with me and live here as my live-in maid.

T-Today is just. Special service.

[ nudges toward the food on the counter. ] Food?
