[ it had been one of those days for alyssa, the ones that rendered her unable to attend classes for more than a few hours-- the ones that had nathan running to her as quickly as possible. thankfully her health and mood seemed to improve throughout the afternoon, giving nathan time to decide whether or not to call albert. when she seemed fine in less time than usual he decided against it, instead suggesting some things for them to do to pass the time. of course, a disney film reigned supreme.

when their movie came to a close nathan turned to look down at alyssa, the girl curled up with her head on his lap, dozing off into what seemed to be a peaceful sleep. he didn't take any time in picking her up gently and moving towards his room, laying her down on top of his bed before grabbing a blanket and putting it over her small body. smiles down at her and brushes a hand against her hair, shutting the door half-way when he makes it back into the living room to start picking up the steadily growing mess that had accumulated throughout the hours of her stay. ]

[ shuffles feet for a bit, then finally nods, wandering forward into the apartment. glances around silently, wondering where would be the most appropriate area to sit down & wait. ]

[ as if on cue he gestures over the couch in silent communication. places anthony's gift on the counter when he makes his way to the kitchen. calls out: ]

Want anything to drink? We've got water, uh- [ looks around the counters at all the empty starbucks cups. decides to quickly toss them out, muttering things underneath his breath before continuing. ] -more water, and grape juice.

[ sits down as directed, rolling his eyes up to the ceiling in mock thought. still, he manages to stomp down on his kneejerk reaction in time to answer politely enough. ]

Water's good.

[ grabs him a bottled water, strolling back out into the living room; hands it to him before beginning his mission on cleaning up again. decides there's no harm in small talk, almost too focused on his mission to pay too much attention to him anyway. ]

Ditching or just out for the day?

[ holds the water bottle with both hands while his elbows brace themselves against his knees. lets his eyes roam the living room with only a half-interest. ]

Ditching's only for Thursday's. Only had morning classes today.

Huh.

[ which is all he says for the moment as he disappears into the kitchen again. comes back out to squat down in front of the tv, popping open the dvd player. grabs the case to it, puts it in, then looks at anthony. waves it at him. ]

Sleeping Beauty. Usually knocks her out for at least an hour.

[ blinks & leans forward a bit, looking genuinely confused. ]

But that's. . . [ pauses. clears his throat. ] Does she get through the whole thing?

[ turns away towards the rack of dvds, placing it into one of the slots there. doesn't turn back right away, his hand lingering. ]

Depends on how she's feeling, I guess.

[ stares down at the unopened water bottle in his hands. ]

She's not feeling well?

[ raps his finger on the rack, side-glancing anthony in the corner of his eye before straightening the dvds to give himself something to do. ]

No, she came home early today.

I'll excuse myself early. After saying hi.

[ blinks and turns around, opening his mouth to say something-- ]

[ comes running through nathan's bedroom door with her arms spread out wide, looking as excited as alyssa ever could. launches herself at the boy on the couch. ]

ANTHONY~!

[ --yeah just. this face for nathan. ]

[ & this face. latches his arms around her in habit, falling backwards from the force such that his back hits the couch. ]

GEH--!

Anthony! Anthony you came to visit me! [ holds onto him tighter, nuzzling her face into his hair. ] Aw, you're so sweet~!

[ manages two light pats on her back in affirmation before he starts tapping at her back more rapidly in panic. ]

Air! Tony needs air!

[ when it doesn't look like she's going to let go anytime soon nathan sighs, resigned to the fact that he's got to help. walks on over and picks her up by the waist, pleased to see that she lets go right away. gives her a smile. ]

I know you're excited, but no suffocating our guests, okay?

[ looks confused for a split second... then smiles and nods, nuzzling her head against his. ]

'Kay!

[ is briefly too distracted to notice a black fuzzball come rushing into the room, only to latch onto anthony's ankle with its paws and teeth. pulls herself out of it to look down at the kitten. gasps. ]

Fifi, no!

[ goes lax on the couch in relief, breathing out in relief. watches the communication between her & nathan with a curious (considering) glance, pushing himself up with his elbows-- ]

[ JUMPSfkja. ]

Oh my G-- Cat! [ goes rigid. ] Second cat?!

[ wiggles out of nathan's hold so that she can bend down and pry the kitten off of her friend. taps its nose once with a finger. ]

Bad Fifi! You don't snack on guests!

[ looks up at anthony with a worried expression on her face. ]

Are you hurt?

[ draws up the ankle to him, wrapping both hands around it gingerly. ]

Critical damage. My position on the food chain. Non-existent.
