[ packs the essential water bottles & sandwiches in his backpack before he's off, putt putt putting to the fair's designated parking spot. doesn't immediately head for the meeting spot, however, strolling on over the bathroom first to do his business. before he leaves, he takes a moment to poke at some of the misbehaving strands on his head in a slightly disgruntled manner. attempts smoothing the strands down twice, then shakes his head, accepting the catastrophe that had been yesterday's sudden rain shower.

making his way back into the outside world, he ignores the trail of waddling seagulls behind him & begins to lazily walk toward the ticket booth to wait for alyssa & tony. ]

[ whines at the poke. ]

I only noticed four!

[ & again. ]

Baby animal abuse.

[ grabs that hand swiftly, holding it in place. ]

I think he's gonna be fine.

[ doesn't miss a beat, lifting his other hand to go for the forehead again while he gives a nod. ]

Stronger than he looks.

[ grabs that hand too. ]

He looks like he's twelve. How does he even manage when you're not around?

[ considers kicking, but settles for attempting to tug his hands back instead. ]

He's had practice.

[ lets go without a fight. ]

If you say so.

[ decides to save the last poke for later & lets his hands fall to his sides harmlessly. ]

I like that job, James Bond.

[ gives him a smile nonetheless. ]

You wanna work with flowers as a permanent job or somethin'?

[ blinks, then just shakes his head. ]

Just as a hobby.

[ his smile turns a bit softer, lifting a hand to briefly brush back anthony's bangs. ]

Do you like your boss that much?

[ leans into that touch & turns his gaze to the ground, expression going both soft & sad as he thinks back to the previous week. ]

. . . Yeah.

[ notices the look, his expression shifting to something that's more concerned yet unsure. hand hovers there before he places it more firmly on the top of anthony's head, thumb stroking the soft hair. opens his mouth to speak, ready to ask what's wrong-- ]

[ pops up behind them without any warning, a great big smile plastered on her face. ]

BOO!

[ jumps again for the second time that day, feeling his heart catching in his throat as he momentarily forgets tony's hand in his hair. then gently nudges tony's hand away to turn & face alyssa. ]

Hi, Ly--

[ freezes when he feels identical weights attaching themselves around both wrists. blinks, feeling a strange sense of doom & glances down--

& chokes. ]

[ both are grinning up at him, glint in their eyes none-too-kind. ]

Hi~i~i~ big brother Anthony!

It's been a while.

Yeah! It's been so long, we thought you didn't want to see us anymore.

Aw, don't say that, Elly. I'm sure he missed us.

Hmm. . . Are you sure, Elly?

[ makes sure that his expression is hidden by anthony's body when he grins slowly. ]

Oh, I'm sure. Right, big brother?

[ just. stays. frozen. ]

[ first glances over at alyssa, jumping a little when he notices her hair. opens his mouth to say something to her about it, though is thrown off by the twins' sudden apperance.

blinks down at them. tilts his head a little, deciding to give them a smile, blind to anthony's distress to take that as his first warning signal. bends down to look at them properly. ]

And who might you guys be?

[ shares a glance, a moment of quick & silent communication between them. keeps their smiles in place when they finally look up at him. ]

I'm Elias. She's Eileen.

[ hangs even more of her weight on anthony's arm, ignoring his pained 'hrk'. ]
